A good place to stay if you would like to be immersed in Costa Rica nature. Bring tons of bug spray... the little buggers kept finding their way inside. The jungle sounds at night were pretty cool though. Be prepared for a lot of exercise. The staircase going up is quite the workout. We booked four nights but ended up leaving two nights early. It wasn't for us. The wifi was not working and we could not get phone service which was a must for us. Great for someone who wants a little more than camping (the hot shower was nice) and wants to be off grid.
Unfortunately we didn't make it to the Waterfall Villa Jungle Retreat due to travel complications so are unable to review the facilities. Chris was really informative and helped us by providing directions in advance and was very quick to respond to any of our messages.
AMAZING! ONE OF A KIND! BEST SLEEP I'VE HAD IN YEARS! this home was beautiful! Private waterfall was once in a life time! Host was perfect, home was clean, everything exceeded our expectations.
The jungle Villa was amazing and beautiful, from the private waterfall to the secluded jungle surroundings with only the sound of Costa Rica around you. It was very private and well cared for. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Villa and had fun exploring the surrounding area. There is lots to do and see including waterfalls, pristine beaches , and Dominical for eating plus nightlife. The restaurant at the end of the road ‘Él Chicote’,was a great local establishment with delicious food and the owner was very friendly. I would recommend the Jungle Villa for someone who wants privacy with lots of nature yet close to town and beaches. Exceeded our expectations. Thank you!
Finding the Jungle retreat was very easy. Chris's direction were very easy to follow. Although Chris wasn't there himself, Keistan (Property Manager) was very helpful as well. There were a few issues when we got there, but after mentioning them, they were taken care of right away.
The Villa itself was beautiful. Really tucked away in the jungle. There were a lot of stairs to get to it, so prepare yourself. Very easy to sleep at night with nice temperatures and the sound of your private waterfall next to the villa.
Overall, we would recommend this place to all who like camping with a little more.
Just returned from my trip to Costa Rica - I stayed in the Waterfall Villa for the first 2 days of my trip, and it was beautiful. You are completely immersed in the jungle and have a private waterfall right outside your door! This accommodation may not be for everyone, but if you're looking to be completely surrounded by nature, this is the spot for you!
The villa is protected by mosquito netting, but don't be surprised if some critters make there way through. Although Chris was absent for my stay, he was still very helpful in answering all of my questions. The only suggestion I have would be to put another sign indicating Cascada Azul, because we would have never found it without help from locals. Overall, beautiful place, helpful host and definitely a stay to remember!
