About This Listing
Come spend a magical evening in our Victorian cottage, nestled in the forest and overlooking a private pond. Roam our 18 acres of field and forest, then relax over dinner in the Scandinavian cook house, or light candles and fall asleep to the croaking frogs.
The sprawling property has many lovely nooks and crannies: an overgrown orchard, gorgeous old barn, gothic pet cemetery, and vegetable and herb gardens. Join us for a bonfire in the firepit, or relax and take in the view from the back porch.
Down by the cottage, you can wander over the pond's bridge to the island where our goose friend lays her eggs every year. Book a Dinner Package (below) and let us cook for you over the open flame in our new grill house.
The cottage has a luxurious four-post double bed. While there's no running water down by the pond, there is an outhouse, with a showers available in the main house of course. A generator provides electricity.
We're located one hour east of Toronto, across the road from 11,000 acres of trails in the Ganaraska Forest, 10 minutes from Mosport Speedway, and you can see the Oshawa Ski Club's hills from our back porch.
Please see our separate listing for the cozy room with queen bed inside our 1830s post and beam farmhouse.
A full organic breakfast is included with your stay. Vegetarian options are available.
Dinner Packages: please join us in our new Scandinavian grill house for a delicious dinner on the open-flame barbecue. Relax in this pine cabin in the woods while lounging on reindeer pelts. $125 covers dinner for two.
Thank you for the delicious breakfasts, the cozy rooms and going out of your way to make lunch for us! This was the nicest B&B I have ever stayed at and I was so happy we chose it for the night of our wedding! Janie was so easy going! My husband and I stayed in the cottage which was so adorable and comfy and our friends stayed in the guest room in the farmhouse, which was also very nice and comfy! We were provided with everything we would need: towels, soap, breakfast, etc. The rooms were both very clean and so was the house! The back deck/patio space is so serene, you feel like you have been transported to a far off land! Blue jays and humming birds on the nearby bird houses and posts join you while you enjoy a delicious breakfast, that Janie will gear to your diet or appetite! The morning of the wedding Janie sent my friend and I off with homemade basil and cheese scones, which we gobbled up! Everything was easy going and perfect! We really enjoyed our stay and are planning on coming back for our 1st Anniversary if not sooner!
