The Space

A private room with private access to the second floor balcony. In beautiful Outremont, two blocks from the nearest metro station and amenities (cafes, restaurants, parks).

The room is minimally furnished with a single, comfortable bed, reading chair and table. There is also a small closet.

Our home is large and bright with the character of a classic Montreal flat. The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly, the streets are wide and lined with lush trees. The bus runs right in front of our house and the metro is down the street.

Our sweet dog "Fifi" is hypo-allergenic and adores people. She will give you lots of kisses if you let her.

Come and stay in this lovely sunny space in our huge, classic Montreal apartment.

Guest Access

Wifi, television, netflix, kitchen, bathroom, and private balcony.

  • Staying with Jessica was lovely. She was very welcoming and helpful with tips on the city and transport. The room is cozy and light just as promised. The location is very convenient with a metro station two or three short blocks. The neighborhood is shady and tree-lined - quite nice to walk in. Jessica made me feel more like a houseguest than someone paying board! You'll enjoy your stay with her.

  • What you'll get is as the description says is a "cozy and sunny room with a private balcony" in an older apartment building located in a quiet neighborhood. The room is small, basic, and clean with a twin sized bed.

You'll have to climb up some steps with your luggage to get to the apartment.

There are some guidebooks in the room and Jessica seemed open to any of my questions about the area and places to eat.

The advantage of staying here is that you'll have quick access to the metro station if you plan on taking the subway.

It's walking distance to some nice places to eat including St-Viateur Bagel which is something you shouldn't miss while in Montreal.

Jessica lives with her daughter and dog in the apartment. If you don't like dogs, I wouldn't recommend staying here. But if you don't mind dogs, their dog is really mellow and friendly. Their dog will come into your room and hop on the bed if you leave the door open. Make sure you keep your snacks stored away or she'll find a way to it.

You'll share one bathroom (washroom) with your hosts and also have access to their kitchen. So if sharing a washrooms is strange to you, I don't recommend you don't book this place.

I did feel strange when I was about to leave because my room was inspected before I was about to leave to make sure everything was there I guess. That hasn't happened so far in the other places I stayed at.

Other than that my stay was pleasant and my hosts were friendly. A great value if you're looking for a basic room to stay in in Montreal.

If you don't like sharing towels, I recommend bringing a quick drying towel of your own and some house slippers to walk around the house if you don't like walking barefoot on wooden floors.

I recommend staying here if you're budget conscious, need a basic room to lie your head down in Montreal in the evening, and want quick access to the subway.

    Response from Jessica:

Hi Anne Marie, I am so sorry if you felt uncomfortable at all during your stay with us. I really have no idea what you mean when you say that your room was inspected when you left - I have never done that with any of my guests. It seems like a misunderstanding? When you left I may have checked to see if the key was left in the room as I have had guests forget to leave the key - honestly that's the only thing I can imagine. Also, I just want to clarify that guests who stay with me are provided with clean towels and a face cloth for their personal use. These items are not shared. Thanks for pointing out that my dog is mellow (as well as a little glutton!), I sometimes forget to tell people to make sure they don't keep food in the room because she will get into it. I have sent you a pm in the hopes that we can clear up any misunderstanding and hope to hear back from you soon.

  • I only stayed one night, arriving late in the evening and leaving early the next morning, but Jessica was very accommodating and a pleasure to stay with. Jessica was incredibly welcoming and helpful (even provided coffee in the morning!) The room is small but beautiful and very comfortable, providing everything that one needs. All around a great experience.

  • i had a lovely stay in montreal. lovely relaxed home, jessica and her daughter were friendly and welcoming - sat down with a map with me to help me get my bearings, shared their french toast and maple syrup one morning and even threw some of my clothes in with their washing for me. the room is bijou but lovely. the apartment is wonderfully located - outremont is lovely and is near to mile end, which is full of nice cafes and places to hang out and it's right near the metro if you want to travel anywhere else.

  • Staying with Jess and Eden in Outremont was a delight. The room is as lovely as the picture portrays. I felt very much at home, as a flat mate might. I enjoyed our easy conversations. The apartment is close to transport and in a nice area, not far on subway to downtown Montreal.

  • Best host. And a great space that is quite convenient to the metro station. The proximity makes this BnB perfect! Again, had such a great stay at this space and hosts are the most courteous and respectful. Gave great recommendations and advice for someone who was in Montreal for the first time. I would make it a point to come back to stay here again!
