Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
This humble cowboy casita began life as a carefree 1950's travel trailer that came to Hillsboro and decided to put down roots. Close to the great Gila Wilderness and both Caballo and Elephant Butte Lakes, we are flanked by ghost towns; the tall pines of Kingston, the foodie town of Silver City and the healing hot waters of Truth or Consequences. You'll love the plush linens, coziness, and the views. Our place is a great launch pad for outdoor fun- whether a couple or solo adventurer.

The space
Our casita is SMALL but mighty. It has a wooden porch, a double bed, one chair and place to stash luggage. There is a bathroom with a small separate shower, sink and potty. There is a curtain that closes off the bathroom but no solid door. Our grounds are lovely and we encourage our guests to wander about. Smoking outside only please.

Where you’ll be

Hillsboro, New Mexico, United States

Great historic neighborhood to poke around in. Giant cottonwoods line the main street and the creek. There is a walking map with details of the charming homes and colorful mining past. The Black Range Museum is a fantastic time capsule into local history. We love our little town, but the location is quite rural. It might be important in your trip routing to note that we are a bit off the beaten path.

Lover of the outdoors and of nature, I count myself blessed to live in the Black Range of New Mexico. Here we grow grapes, make wine and have a tasting room on the main street. Love to travel and when home spend time hiking, biking and kayaking (and tending vines).
