The garden and dock are extensions to your space. The dock is shared with our Silver MOOn houseboat and one bedroom cottage, the Manatee Queen Haven.
Inside Sun BAy Haven, full bath/tub & detachable hand held shower,
books, counter & computer desk.
cable TV, high speed Internet, Central (website hidden) in your room: toaster oven, microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, electric egg poacher, dishes etc.
In your garden is a table, chairs, umbrella, lounger chair, BBQ grill;

The distance is an easy walk/bike/kayak/ or swim from our property to John Pennecamp State Park, John Dagney Botanical Park, snorkel/dive shops, grocery, nightlife, the famous Caribbean Club, Coconuts night club, our beach, the mangroves, sea life, the southern Everglades.
You are a short 20-30 minute drive to historic Homestead, Redlands Trail, alligator farm, Fruit & Spice park, Orchid botanical garden, & South Miami.
We are a 2 hour drive to Key West. There is a Harley bike rental a mile from the house. It is a lot of fun to motorcycle to Key West for the day.
Although Miami airport is closer, Ft. Lauderdale Airport is easier.
You can take public transportation, the Keys Shuttle, from the airports to within 4 short blocks of our property.
HOW TO BOOK:
Please look at the house rules section for clarification of all rental fees etc. The rental rate is different depending on the time and does not include Florida tax/cleaning.

When you click on the button to reserve one of our places, Airbnb will collect the rental fee, their fee and will hold $300 for security/damage deposit. Our phone numbers and emails are at that time exchanged as well.
We then can go over in detail our place, our pricing and if it is the best fit for both of us! Renter agreement addendum, information, payment of Tax and cleaning is handled after booking and outside of Airbnb system. Upon checkout, with our place intact, the deposit is refunded either immediately or within 10 days.
When you are our guest, we will help with information on places to enjoy, we are close by.

Interaction with Guests
We know that our guests' privacy is a given and it is up to our guests how much interaction they would like. It is our guests' vacation. We live down the street and are here for assistance when needed.
Guests are always welcomed to visit us! Whether that includes going to dinner, kayaking or walking the dogs together or joining us on our pontoon boat out for a ride.
It is also a special treat to get to know our guests; many whom have become friends and returned to one of our Vacahaven vacation homes multiple times.
Some of our Vacahaven properties share common spaces: the manatee canal dock, the bike room & the kayak dock and yard.
After 23 years of hosting, we will take your lead on what is good for you!
Here at mile marker 101.4, bay side, we are walking distance to grocery, outdoor fruit/veggie stand, stores and a few restaurants. We are at a wider part of the island so we are in a quiet neighborhood with one of the best beaches in the Keys as a homeowner park! It is a mix of manufactured homes, two story cement homes on 100 x45 ft & 100 X 90 ft lots; We prefer the manufactured homes for the real Keys living- most of the time is outside in our lovely weather and breezes!
We have bikes for your use- most everything is within 2 miles of our property. We have two taxi service companies. If you want to spend your time in the water, kayaking to the Everglades, (15 min. kayak) going snorkeling at Pennecamp Coral Reef State Park, and don't mind walking & biking, then you can take the Keys Shuttle to/from the airport.
Most guests like having the convenience of a car for longer excursions. Do not expect to use buses for seeing all the Keys- you need a car.
Other Things to Note
Your entrance is on the garden side, you have direct access to the dock, canal and use of our homeowner parks, including our beach.
**PLease note, There are three "beach" areas in our community. When you book, we have a map of our community for you to locate the different areas.
You will know the expected final price before having to book the base rental fee through Airbnb. Please check with us for availability as we do not use any of the site's calendars on which we are listed, including Airbnb.

After the reservation is confirmed, our phone and emails are exchanged. This reservation price does not include the deposit, Florida taxes, seasonal or # of person percentage, or cleaning fee.
In Key Largo, the FL tax is 12.5%.
The refundable security/damage deposit is $300, and is handled via Airbnb.
There is a modest cleaning fee based on number of people and length of stay.
We also have an agreement so we both can be on the ‘same page’ with logistics and expectations. This is a vacation home by owner and not a hotel, therefore, forms such as these are standard faire.
The security/damage deposit is to assure you, our place will be ready and waiting for you and at the same token, assure us, you are arriving.
We endeavor to be clear in our communications with you about our place and the arrangements. Always feel free to visit our vacahaven blog to get more of a feel of our havens. Please ask questions if something is confusing.
We expect that who is listed on this agreement is who is coming. If you have a larger group wanting to vacation together, we may have a different option for you.
If there is something missing that was expected, excess noise from neighbors, something breaks, please contact us right away so we can remedy the situation.
Our home and neighborhood is not appropriate for wild parties or large groups.
Although on vacation, do your best to maintain the home.
We very much appreciate our vacationers taking good care while staying at our home: being energy conscious and being gentle on our environment.
For our Key Largo Florida places, being energy conscious and being gentle on our environment and manatees, is especially important. For example, only a few sheets of single ply toilet paper in the toilets, and other common sense care.
Please no smoking, really.

Fishing poles, Tandem kayak and two bikes are free with your rental.
Once the rental fee is booked with Airbnb, we have emails and phone numbers exchanged so the rest of the financials and paperwork can be worked out.
We have a renter's agreement that we both sign. The agreement is so we can be on the ‘same page’ with logistics and expectations.

This being our first time in Key Largo we really did not know what to expect but all in all this was a good place to stay for a few days and very convenient to all that Key Largo has to offer. Maggie was there to greet my gf and I as we arrived and gave us a tour of the place and the neighborhood. The place is an efficiency as described and has the amenities you would expect and was very clean. The bed was super comfortable and we both got good night's sleep after adventuring during the day. The fact that this place is dog friendly was a big selling point for me as I got to bring my dog along for our mini-vacation and I think she had the most fun out of us. Kayaks and bikes are available but unfortunately we did not have time to take advantage of them due to other things we had planned but is a nice amenity. The community itself seemed safe and full of vacationers that were there to relax for the holiday weekend and everyone that we encountered was very friendly. All things considered this was a good trip and and a nice way to get introduced to Key Largo.
This was my first time ever using Air bnb and I have to admit... It set the bar really high. I had a wonderful stay at Chanoch's home. I met a really nice couple staying in the back house and we spent our evenings on the back bay drinking wine, grilling, and fishing. It is truly a tropical oasis. LOVE the fact that the grocery store and farmers market is a bike ride away and I also loved that there were bikes and kayaks available for us to use at any time. Although I didn't get to meet Chanoch I met his neighbor Bob and house manager Maggie. They were so welcoming and nice. I would definitely recommend checking out John Pennekamp as well as Dagney Johnson Park while in Key Largo. The only other thing I would say is that if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. It's not loud with people but sleeping in the front of the house I would hear the trash men and recycle guys come early early in the a.m. I would definitely stay here again.

Wir waren im März 2015 bei Chanoch und Maggi in Key Largo. Wir wurden schon im vorraus mit sehr viel Informationen über und rundum Key Largo auf unseren Urlaub eingestimmt. Auch der Empfang war sehr nett und freundlich. Man fühlt sich wirklich gut aufgehoben bei den beiden. Unsere Unterkunft war klein aber fein. Die Umgebung unserer Unterkunft war wirklich sehr ruhig. Zum entspannen genau das richtige. Unser Unterkunft war sauber, das freie nutzen der Kajaks und Fahrräder ist auch toll.
Hi Ria, I am glad you had a good time on our Dej o Mej sailboat! I see you mentioned she was small, just for other guests to know, for a sailboat she is large; for a hotel room, not:) The Captain's bed is a queen at one end and full at the other with access at one side. The floor to ceiling height is 6 1/2 to 7 feet tall.
I am glad you made use of the kayaks and bikes and had a good vacation! I hope to host you again and maybe you want to try our Manatee Queen next time to check out the manatee!!

Neighborhood was very nice. Unit was clean. Didn't get to spend time at the beach since there was only one key and usually the other renters had it. Also parking was very tight. We came home one evening and had to part at the neighbor's because other renters took up 3 spaces with 2 cars.
Maggie was there to greet us when we arrived and was very cordial. Very nice little place, very clean and charming. We enjoyed our visit to this quiet neighborhood. It was great to have access to bikes and kayaks - we especially made great use of the tandem kayak! Use of the private beach was also nice.

HI! When I am not running my business, I am a projects guy- I love fixing up my vacation home rentals in Key Largo Florida.
The renovation team consists of us- fun-loving couple that are passionate about life, music, art, gardens and our wonderful black lab that travels everywhere with Giana.
We have hosted guests from all over the world: in our Brooklyn, NY home since 1992 and now in Key Largo Florida.
We love kayaking & fishing all through the waters of Key Largo and Jamaica Bay in Brooklyn, biking along the bike paths of Key Largo, or Prospect Park, Brooklyn, snorkeling at John Pennecamp State Park.
We love traveling, and with that comes learning languages - we speak a little German and Italian and speak Hebrew fluently.
We are involved in many projects where we can spread compassion and generate good. They tend to mesh and outgrow from our interests and projects.
We are involved in the Arts- both creating and supporting. I play accordian and Giana, the piano. Our movie tastes range from Casablanca to Under the Tuscan Sun- then again, they are both love stories:) We both love to cook, especially with friend and family.
What's it like having us as hosts? First, we do this because we enjoy it- meeting new people, making people happy and sharing the great things our places have to share.
We are flexible to what you need in your stay with us- help with shows, a desk for your room, hanging out with us or wanting your privacy.
Our places have plenty of space, communal and private, porches, gardens, indoor kitchens and outdoor BBQs.
Common occurrences: will meet you at the door, hot coffee, ice water or beer/wine to share; take you on boat or kayak tours of our beautiful bay;
We both enjoy meeting new people and helping with making our places a good retreat. Giana had worked in the health care field and now her 'patients' are renovating our places and decorating! We are always doing something- gardening, new colors, adding a new kitchen tool. So if there is something you need, or would like, just ask-- it may be in our basement waiting to be used:)
We are conscientious about keeping our places clean, bug free; We expect our guests to be respectful of our home.
