This room includes a private entrance ,new bathroom, and bedroom overlooking Narragansett Bay.
The house was built in 1725 and was moved to Newport by my family in 1965. We have a big yard with steps to the water. Downtown Newport is a ten minute walk so you can leave your car behind and not worry about a place to park. A short drive takes you to the island beaches, the Ocean Drive and the Mansions.
Ned's historic home, situated in a historic neighborhood right on the water is incredibly charming. We were only able to stay one night, but wished we could have stayed much longer. The view from the rustic hide-away was breathtaking. It rained when we were there and I can tell you it won't matter what the weather, you will love this place! Not only was Ned incredibly cool, but the room was sweet, very clean and very comforting in it's understated decor. I don't think I've ever been in a cleaner bathroom that wasn't my own and it is a little strange for me to write that, but I have to because its true. It is a very easy walk into town, you won't need your car once you've parked and learned the lay of the land. I would definitely stay here again.
Ned was very friendly and attentive (when needed). I needed to relax and unwind, and Ned's place was just what the doctor ordered. I like my privacy, so having my own entrance was a plus. The spectacular views of the bay, boats and the Newport bridge made this a five star setting. The oversized yard was green and lush and had welcoming adirondack chairs overlooking the bay. The suite itself was immaculate and updated. Great neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown, shopping and festivals. I think the cherry on the cake was being lulled to sleep by the sounds of small waves gently coming ashore on the adjacent boat ramp (which is only used for canoes and kayaks). Thanks Ned!
Very nice! Great little water front home. Yard and water views were lovely. Location was great.. Thanks Ned!
Perfect little get away. The home was clean and tidy, quaint and quiet. The pictures just didn't do it justice. We were able to walk to Thame's for dinner and drinks (little less than a mile), yet were able to return to crickets and waves to lull us to sleep. I never met Ned in person, but he made our travels absolutely seamless. I recommend and will definitely return!
Ned was kind and our stay was pleasant. Cute room, with nice views of the water. Worked well for our last minute trip to Newport.
Very seamless and pleasant stay. Ned was a great host and extremely accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The house is in a quiet neighborhood just outside of downtown and directly on the waterfront. Would absolutely stay here again.
