The Space

People love the atmosphere, the ambience and the whole setting.
It houses one double bed with en suite, plus a sofa bed that pulls out as a double.

Guest Access

The garden, the farm; possibly internet (if compatible)

Interaction with Guests

I give my guests a warm welcome, and chat with them if and as they wish; I'm happy to show them round the farm, and recommend places to visit once I know their interests.

The Neighborhood

I love the peace and tranquility, the rural countryside.

Getting around

The bus is 1 1/2 miles away; it is best to bring/hire a car if wishing to travel around.

  • The cabin is in a delightful location, and is a tremendous value for having your very own cabin. I liked the interior, too. Yes, it is right next to Anne's house, but that did not bother me. The main reason to stay is the wonderful pastoral location; I did not make it down to the lough (the mud was too deep after constant rain, and I stayed only one day), but I imagine it's spectacular -- and even if one doesn't go, Anne's horses, etc., and the surrounding area are plenty lovely. I did not use the kitchen facilities, and was staying on my own, but I can imagine that a couple would have an incredible value staying there for awhile.

The shower did not work while I was there, but I believe Anne is in the midst of fixing it. I should also note that the wifi signal was nearly nonexistent -- I would not count on it, and assume it's for emergencies only. Of course, one does not aim to stay in a cabin like this for the technology, but it is worth keeping in mind if, like me, you are traveling without local phone service and in need of planning your trip.

  • Anne's farm is exactly what we've been looking for, a cosy and peaceful place close to the nature. It's an ideal place for getting away from the city life. We were offered a really warm welcome and Anne made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin itself is pretty spacious and very cosy - you have all the amenities to prepare your meals and relax afterwards. We also spent a good amount of time in the garden area - two dogs that Anne has on the farm are adorable. We would also recommend getting around the wider Mullingar area - Belvedere Park is very nice for a walk and we also did some roller skating beside Royal Canal. Thank you once again for such a nice weekend break!

  • Although it was only for one night, we had a fantastic time and felt right at home. Anne was a wonderful host and her pets were fantastic little friends. We'd love to come back and will recommend Anne's place to all our friends.

  • Anne was by far the best host we have ever had, and she went above and beyond and even gave us a tour of the city. She was incredibly welcoming and her cabin truly felt like home and was very coz. It had everything we needed to be comfortable.

The pictures really don't do the place justice and there was loads of room, there is even an attic area that you can sleep in which I loved.

Anne's property was amazing and we enjoyed two nature walks, just soaking everything in. Her horses are very friendly as well as her two playful dogs.

I am definitely making it a point to come back someday and I would recommend her cabin to anyone that would like to stay in Mullingar.

    Response from Anne:

You're a wonderful girl, Olivia, and it was my pleasure to give what help I could. I am so glad you liked the dogs, the horses, and the whole place, and of course I will very much welcome you back again in, I hope, the not too distant future.
    With very best wishes.

  • Sadly we didn't get to meet Anne, but we enjoyed the little cabin immensely. It's convieniently close to mullingar for groceries or shopping, but it is surrounded by farms and lots of pretty, rural space. Anne made everything easy in terms of gettingnin and out. I highly recommend her place.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Anne's cabin. The cabin is much bigger than we expected. It was very quiet and relaxing. It was lovely and warm and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We would definitely stay here again. Anne was lovely and very helpful. She had lots of local information on things to do in the area. Although check out was at 11am, Anne dropped by to tell us there was no rush and to take our time, it was a very nice touch. Directions to the cabin from Dublin were amazing, we had no problem finding it. Thank you for a wonderful bank holiday weekend away

  • We had a lovely time at Anne's place. Situated with a few horses behind us and a pair of friendly dogs and a cat beside us, it was a warm animal friendly environment to be in. My girlfriend especially enjoyed it. The cabin although situated right beside Anne's house offered everything we required and was private enough. There isn't any pubs or shops in walking distance and a car is essential however. But fantastic value for money with a friendly and helpful host that we would certainly consider visiting again. Thanks.

  • Absolutely fantastic host and wooden cabin. It's so much bigger in life than the pictures make it. Quiet, picturesque, and in closs proximity to a town for all your urban needs.

Annie was friendly, easy to talk to, and made us feel very welcome.

The cabin gives you complete privacy, and comes with a powerful hot shower, plenty of blankets, and space to cook meals. Instant tea and coffee provided was a bonus to help us unwind after the drive.

The 2 dogs are adorable, playful, and very quiet. There if you would like to play with them, but also not invading your space.

Will 100% stay here again, if I get the opportunity.

  • Cabin is nice enough. Very basic, but that was what we were expecting. However I feel I should point out for potential future guests that the cabin is about a metre away from the host's house, basically in the front yard. You can't see that from the pictures. If you don't mind that then it's pleasant enough. If you want a remote getaway surrounded by nature it's a bit disappointing. Host very helpful though.

About
We are located down a small, pretty rural lane. The cabin is fully self contained; it shares the forecourt and garden with our small cottage but is totally separate. I ride horses and I write books; I have two dogs, three hens and some ponies; I love the countryside - and we welcome guests who do also.
