This luxury urban lake retreat offers paddleboards, kayaks, fishing, a surf boat, a charming beach house at the water’s edge, and a home filled with thoughtful amenities and activities for all. Concierge-style services available if desired.

The space
LakeHus has been thoughtfully designed to comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests in proper beds. The home features two spacious bedrooms with en-suite baths, two additional upper-level bedrooms, and a super-fun lower-level bunkroom—perfect for kids or groups.

LakeHus truly offers something for everyone. Enjoy shuffleboard, poker, cozy reading nooks, sun decks, chess, puzzles, movie nights, golf, water sports, beach time, and gourmet cooking—no detail has been overlooked. In addition, a charming beach house perched right at the water’s edge provides extra living and sleeping space, creating a one-of-a-kind lakefront experience.

The home faces east, so you’ll wake naturally to some of the most breathtaking sunrises you’ve ever seen. Approximately half of our 742-acre lake remains undeveloped, making Lake Minnewashta a more relaxed and “chill” alternative to nearby Lake Minnetonka—both beloved for different reasons. Lake Minnewashta has its own unique roots and is especially known for waterskiing, complete with a resident-managed ski course along the north shore. The lake is also home to the well-known YMCA Camp Tanadoona and, more recently, Sauna Camp, which is an easy winter walk from LakeHus once the lake freezes.

LakeHus is ideally located:

- 8 minutes to downtown Excelsior
- 10 minutes to Lake Minnetonka
- 10 minutes to Hazeltine National Golf Club
- 20 minutes to Wayzata
- 1 mile to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum (walkable)

Several nearby boat clubs are available if you’d like to rent a boat for a day on the water.

We offer concierge accommodations upon request, including (but not limited to): chef prepared meals, grocery delivery / stocked refrigerator, captain service for a Nautique surf boat (based on availability).

The property includes 120 feet of sandy lakeshore with full access to non-motorized water recreation, including kayaks and paddleboards.

Please note: This is not a party house. LakeHus is located in a residential neighborhood, and we rent exclusively to guests who will respect the tranquility of the lake and surrounding community. Quiet hours are 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM.
