About This Listing
You will receive a warm welcome in our home. It is a convenient, comfortable base from which to explore London. We are a friendly bilingual English/Argentinian couple - Carolyn was born in London and Carlos knows exactly what is is like to arrive for the first time as a visitor! We are full of advice on how to enjoy and make the most of London. We have been hosting guests for over 3 years now and we love it!
The main bedroom is a spacious, private room with a double bed, ensuite shower room, flat screen TV/DVD and french windows leading onto its own private patio. It is relaxing and quiet. There is wifi, we provide clean towels, a hairdryer and a full continental breakfast. The second smaller bedroom is next door. It also has a double bed and its own ensuite toilet. So we can host groups of 3-4 people as long as they are happy to share the shower in the larger room. This is most suitable for families or groups of 3- 4 friends.
We live in a spacious 3 bedroom maisonette with a large garden. The house is mid-Victorian and is full of character with ornate fireplaces and other original features. You are welcome to use our beautiful kitchen diner. The house is set back from a main road with off-street parking. The bedrooms are at the back overlooking the garden so are very quiet.
*Please send a message to check availability before reserving*
You will have your private room(s) with ensuite bathroom, direct access to the garden and the kitchen diner where we will give you breakfast each morning.
We usually keep the living room as a private space.
Interaction with Guests
This is our home so we are around to chat to you and give you advice if you need it. Carlos will usually be around at breakfast time (Carolyn at weekends). We will also give you our mobile numbers in case of any problem or emergency.
We love our location between Brixton and Clapham. When you arrive we will give you a map of the area that Carlos created with many of our favourite places to eat and drink. If you need more recommendations just ask!
Vibrant, busy Brixton is a 5 minute walk. It has fantastic transport links: the Victoria line takes only 10 minutes to Green Park for Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly. It has fascinating multicultural markets, bars, cafes and restaurants.
Clapham High Street is a 10 minute walk and has lots more restaurants to try out, and Clapham Common is a beautiful huge park with some great cafes close to its tube station and overlooking the park. It is great if you fancy an early morning run!
It is very easy to reach central London from our place.
The Victoria line from Brixton is 5 minutes walk away. It is a very fast connection: 10 minutes to Green Park for Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly. It is also a direct connection to St Pancras International station and also Victoria station for trains to Gatwick.
There are also many buses from Brixton and Clapham to all parts of central London, to get a more scenic view of London. Many of our guests love the 88 bus from Clapham North which takes you to Westminster Abbey, Parliament Square and Trafalgar Square - it is a great tourist route!
No smoking in the house.
Please be quiet when you come in at night, our bedroom is by the front door and we have to get up very early some days!
You are welcome to use the kitchen diner and garden.
In general we keep the sitting room as our private space.
Carolyn & Carlos are so friendly, and
have much hospitality. We had comfortable & pleasant time.
the house & the rooms with ENGLISH GARDEN are clean & beautiful. The fee is worth. Breakfast is beautiful.
Great hosts. Friendly, welcoming and considerate. Good accommodation. My daughter and I had both rooms with privacy, comfortable and quiet with a nice outlook. Good location. 5-10 minute walk to Brixton station, 20 mins to the heart of London and direct line to St Pancreas.
We only hope we were deserving enough hosts.

We stayed with Carlos and Carolyn for 6 nights and we felt very welcome in their beautiful place.
It's very conveniently situated close to a big Tesco supermarket and to Brixton tube.
Every morning there was a simple and nice breakfast waiting for us and both hosts were very generous with tips and recommendations about where to go and eat in the neighborhood. I also enjoyed our little chats about life in London and there is some amazing artwork all through the house, some made by Carlos!
The room where we stayed was big and clean, we would definitely recommend it and stay there again in the future.
Hosts very warm and friendly, the home is cosy, everything was perfect.
Also it was very quiet and could get a good rest every single night.
Hosts also very helpful with local information, were given a map with some personal recommendations.
Would definitely recommend, really happy with this experience.
Beautiful house and good host, feel just like my own home.comfortable and relax.good position, easy to everywhere.cannot forget the stay in Carolyn and Carlos 's oasis.
