I have a lovely double bedroom available in my flat in Farringdon/Clerkenwell, a popular central location with bags of character, things to see and do and places to go. Karl Marx and Charles Dickens liked it - and so will you.
Set back on a quiet residential street, this contemporary flat is so, so quiet and offers a serene and comfortable space in central London. It's a small double bedroom but there's bags of space in the lounge, bathroom, kitchen and the patio, which overlooks a rear garden area and off-street parking - so no passing traffic, just parking. It really is so so quiet for central London.
Staying here means you have as much peace and quiet as you want or find as much as excitement as you want within just a few minutes walk from the apartment. There are bars, restaurants, entertainment venues, and art galleries and museums such as the Barbican nearby.
You could walk to many of the attractions of London: Tate Modern and St Pauls (15 minutes), the City (10 minutes), Covent Garden/West End (20 minutes). Plus, as it's central Zone 1 it's cheaper and quicker to travel around. You could pick up one of the bike rentals - there's a bike station next to the flat - for as little as a pound a day, which is a great way to see the City. This is especially good at weekends, when the City and central London traffic goes to the country for the weekend. You may well find long and empty roads on a Saturday and Sunday.
Ten minutes walk takes you to Old Street and Shoreditch, which offer even more entertainment options and lots of clubs and late night bars. A short bus ride away takes you further into Dalson, Broadway Market and London Fields. If you like people watching, this area is where, it is claimed, you can see some of the best young fashionistas and artists wandering around being 'arty'. There are some great Vietnamese and Turkish restaurants in this area, too - and lots of bars and events happenings.
I've lived in London for more than 15 years and I feel lucky to live in Clerkenwell. I do believe it may be one of the best places to live in the capital.
If you do go ahead and book, I will ask you to please send me some form of ID or work reference. I only ask this as a security precaution and only if you book. Thanks!
If you need to drop of bags or check out late this may be possible, as I often work from home. Just ask and I can let you know.
Virginia was a very welcoming host. The flat is nice and well located. The room is not big but is sufficient for a couple.
I loved staying at Virginia's flat. It was convenient to everything I was doing with easy access to many tube stations, bus lines and eateries. Virginia was most accommodating and friendly, helping me figure out how to get around. The room was small but perfectly comfortable (just as described). Everything was spotlessly clean. I couldn't have asked for anything better!
Virginia was such a great host. She was so welcoming, friendly and offered great advice about the area and always willing to assist in anyway. The flat is located in a very central and convenient location in central London. I would definitely stay again.
This was my first Airbnb experience and it was great!
The flat is well located - easy walk to three different tube stations and buses. Virginia was very helpful before and during my visit - gave me excellent instructions on various options of travel from the airport and lots of advice while I was there! There was even a travel power adapter in the drawer - so helpful.
I was able to extend my visit while I was there, thanks for the flexibility Virginia! The room was a nice size for me and my suitcase. I had a lovely time. Highly recommended!
The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This is my fourth or fifth time staying with Virginia. This is a place in a great location in London. It has provided me with a lot of joy... a nice point to begin the discovery of the city.
Virginia has been a wonderful host. She helped me with practicalities, gave me amazing suggestions for christmas shopping and even shared with me a delicious sunday's roast meal! Virginia has been very flexible with the check-in time since my flight was delayed.
Her flat is incredibly well located in Clerkenwell, a very nice and safe neighborhood in the hearth of central London. The location is at the same time very quiet, away from major roads, and very well connected with Barbican and Farringdon tube and train station at less than 10 mins walk, plus busses. Many food stores, shops and restaurants nearby.
The room, although small was clean and corresponding to description and photos published. Same for the rest of the flat. Being the living room, kitchen and garden (!) shared spaces the room's size wasn't an issue at all.
Overall I'm very satisfied with my 10 days stay at Virginia's and definitely recommend her as a host.
