Chris's apartment off Delancey was just perfect for our group of 5. Two bedrooms are a great asset to this modern and comfortable pad in a fantastic part of town. My twenty something sons took off after dinner on the first night in town and bar hopped around lil'Italy and the LES, returning at first light proclaiming that it was a cool area.
My wife and I also found it a nice area for a drink in a bar or dining at at a nice restaurant. The apartments' proximity to Delancey/Essex metro stop is another bonus. I did not actually meet Chris but all went well with getting access to the building.
We had a great time, Chris's apartment is in a GREAT location. We walked everywhere, into Soho, over Williamsburg bridge. Over to Chelsea market even. One night we went to Brooklyn and came back over Brooklyn bridge and walked all the way back (quite a long walk !!!)
The apartment was great, enough sleeping space for the 4 of us. All clean and new. Bathroom was clean and lots of light and mirrors! Its on the 4th floor so quite a pull up the stairs but we knew to expect that. Chris was very helpful and welcoming and met us with the key when we arrived. He also sorted out a couple of queries we had. We love The Butchers Daughter cafe!!! Thanks so much. We'll be back.
Our family of 7 stayed at this apartment for a long weekend and everything was great! Plenty of sleeping areas and a very nice updated kitchen with washer and dryer which was very good to have for such a large family. Chris and his wife were very accessible and got us into the apartment as soon as we arrived in NYC. Thanks Chris for a great stay!
Our stay at Chris' 2 bedroom apartment in the East Village was easy to organise and very pleasant. We were able to organise an early check in to the apartment which was very generous and the apartment was very clean on arrival. There were 4 of us staying in the apartment and we were provided with 2 sets of keys. Whilst this may have been limiting we were able to easily coordinate access to the apartment if we were doing separate things during our stay.
The apartment is up 4 flights on stairs and initially your legs are pretty much burning once you get to the 3rd flight, but you do get used to it and is an excellent work out! There are two distinct bedrooms and two loft areas that have double beds (we used one of the lofts). The wardrobes in the bedrooms were excellent as it meant we didn't have to live out of a suitcase.
There are full facilities available: dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and dryer. These were easy to use.
Both bedrooms had air conditioning units which were needed to sleep as the apartment would become stuffy in the warmer weather. One annoying thing was the units were a little noisy which interrupted sleep during the night.
The apartment is 2 blocks from a subway station which was convenient. There are also numerous good restaurants and convenience stores in the area which was helpful.
I would recommend this apartment to others and certainly would stay there again if travelling with a similar sized group.
This apartment is well suited to a group and comfortably accommodated myself and four other females- anymore and it would have been a squeeze.
The apartment itself is clean and well kept. It was great to have both kitchen and laundry facilities as we were in NYC for a week. The only small thing is it would have been handy to have some tea towels to dry our dishes as we didn't make use of the dishwasher.
A bonus to the apartment is a private roof top which at night is a must. We do recommend to invest in some outdoor furniture as we would have definitely utilised this area more.
Location wise this apartment is perfect. Whole foods and many great eateries are nearby. The Williamsburg bridge is around the corner and a great run for those that wish to start the day with some exercise and views. The subways are within a short walk as well as areas such as SOHO.
Overall we would recommend Chris' apartment as well as him as a host.
This is a nice two bedroom apartment , very well located , close to the subway station and amenities. The flat was big enough for our family of 6 with a choice of beds! But the dining space was too tiny especially because we didn't want to go to the restaurant each time.
We also liked the decoration and modern style of the apartment.
We were well welcomed by Chris and his colleague Abi, even if our arrival time was not so precise.
But the street was really noisy on Friday and Saturday nights so that it was hard to fall asleep and the windows on the street didn't close so well.
We would of course recommend this flat for a short stay in New York, because it was great.
I stayed in Chris' apartment as part of a group of 5 girls in July 2013. I was impressed with the layout, location and cleanliness of the apartment. There was sufficient space for all of us, the apartment was clean, air conditioned and linens and dishes were provided. The only thing to keep in mind is that the apartment is located on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. This was not a problem for us though. Some good restaurants to try within a 10 minute walk from the apartment are Sons of Essex and Beauty and Essex.
As a first time AirBNB user, I was nervous about using the service but Chirs' timely communication made me feel much more comfortable. We did not have any issues and were thrilled with the overall experience. I would highly recommend this apartment to other travelers.
Loved the apartment. Really clean and comfortable. Two bedrooms, a pull out bed and a bed in the loft. Every space is used efficiently. The Air Conditioning worked really well so we all slept well. Wifi was areal bonus as we could plan our days. Location was perfect with the subway a block away, grocery shop on the corner and loads of pubs and restaurants in the area. The real NYC. The tenement museum nearby gives a real taste of what the area was like in days gone by. I'll definitely be back especially when Chris gets furniture for the roof terrace. Fab views of the New York skyline. Only draw back was bringing up the suitcases as no lift.
Wonderful apartment in the heart of lower eastside!
