About this listing
Suite of 3 connected treehouse rooms within secluded intown Buckhead. Set amongst lush greenery, each room is beautifully furnished with antiques, natural artifacts and the sounds of nature around you. All of this, & it's just minutes from downtown!
Centrally located within the heart of intown Atlanta, the treehouses are a hidden gem. The subject of numerous TV and magazine features, they are often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique place you'll ever stay. What could be better than falling asleep in the trees and waking up to birds singing around you--all within the city limits?
The treehouse consists of 3 separate rooms, each connected by rope-bridges. Descriptions of the 3 rooms are below.
Living Room: Antique furnishings including 80 year old butterfly-filled windows, a 12-candle chandelier, comfortable, antique seating for 6, and a balcony overlooking an acre of lush woods.
Bedroom: Sleeps 2. The pillow-top double bed--fitted with sumptuous, organic linens--is equipped with wheels so it can either be rolled out onto a platform that overlooks the stream below or inside the room for further insulation. A small desk, primitive side-tables, an antique birdcage, Kilim rugs, votives and fairy lights make it comfortable and enchanting.
Deck: Circular seating for 10 and a hammock lying beneath a 150 year old Southern Short-Leaf Pine tree. Open to the elements and immersed in thick greenery.
BATHROOM IS LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT/LOWER LEVEL OF OUR PRIVATE HOME. GUESTS WILL HAVE EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO IT DURING THEIR STAY. The treehouses and main house share a lot and are within a 30 second walk to one another.
Guests will have free parking in our driveway and access to a full, private, indoor bathroom inside the basement of the main house.
Interaction with Guests
Other than showing you around when you arrive and bringing coffee in the morning, we'll completely respect your privacy and leave you alone. However, because the the treehouses and our home share a lot, we are readily available and close by if you need anything.
The neighborhood is a quiet, residential place. While our lot is located in a particularly peaceful, private and lush part of the area, it is important to remember that it is in the middle of intown Atlanta. While you may hear the occasional siren or train whistle during your stay, the most common sound is that of silence broken only by birds, frogs and the wind in the trees.
We highly recommend renting a car during your stay but if you prefer public transportation, we are about a 10 minute taxi-ride from both the Lindbergh and Arts Center MARTA train stops.

What an amazing place! This real life adult sized treehouse was a truly fantastic oasis in the middle of Atlanta. The hosts are gracious, caring, welcoming, and very accomodative. Since it is a treehouse it it is glamping central with a comfortable bed, serence surrounding, and absolutely gorgous and romatic decor. Highly recommend.
I had the pleasure of staying at the treehouse(s) this past week for an overnight stay. The treehouses are a very unique experience right in the heart of the city, and Peter was a warm and engaged host. The accomodations were charming and quirky, and despite a very warm, humid day, once it was time for bed it was comfortable and surprisingly bug-free (too high for mosquitos, I'm surmising).
It was most unusual to be able to sleep outdoors and indoors at the same time, since the bed rolls out a big open space so that you are effectively sleeping under the stars. Very cool experience.
This treehouse is one-of-a-kind wonderful. We never got a chance to meet Katie, but Peter was so lovely to us and very knowledgable about the good places in Atlanta. The coffee in the morning was the cherry on top of an already wonderful experience.
Our hosts were gracious and interesting people that were very diligent in making sure we knew what we were doing while staying in this unique establishment. The neighborhood was nice and all was as expected... and more!
The stay at Katie and Peters Treehouse exceeded our expectations. With the setting of the treehouse it kept the Georgia bugs away and the great space and fans kept us comfortable during our time spent there. We were pleased with the available wifi giving us the opportunity to spend a night in a fairy tale location enjoying Netflix movies and wine. I would love to go back!
They gave us a nice welcome basket with wine, our favorite snack bars and a few other snacks. Peter gave us a fun filled tour of the place and took our breakfast drink order. The neighborhood was quiet and in a very nice area of the city. Conveniently located to food options and adventures. We loved sitting on the bed overlooking the creek below us as we had our meals. The lights created a very romantic ambiance and we greatly enjoyed our stay here. One of the evenings a huge thunderstorm hit and it was the highlight of our stay because we loved watching the powerful display of nature. Thank you Katie and Peter!!!
Peter and Katie were terrific hosts. Everything was perfect when we arrived. Peter took the time to show us the treehouse and answered any questions we had. We could not have been happier! What a great way to celebrate our anniversary.
About the Host, Katie And Peter
I work in the wine industry and my husband is an environmental activist and 3d photographer. He built the treehouses as an escape within the city and together, we've made it into a Vacation Home at home! We hoped to create a setting that was both secluded and quiet but also warm and welcoming. Many of our favorite times have happened there--from parties with friends to quiet afternoons reading the paper.
But while we love being at home, we equally love traveling. We find that experiencing new places and meeting new people is as exciting to us as being in our treehouse is calming. Through Airbnb, we want to share our hideaway with other travelers who seek adding something special to their trip and hope that they leave feeling like it was something genuinely special!
