About This Listing
Suite of 3 connected treehouse rooms within secluded intown Buckhead. Set amongst lush greenery, each room is beautifully furnished with antiques, natural artifacts and the sounds of nature around you. All of this, & it's just minutes from downtown!
Centrally located within the heart of intown Atlanta, the treehouses are a hidden gem. The subject of numerous TV and magazine features, they are often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique place you'll ever stay. What could be better than falling asleep in the trees and waking up to birds singing around you--all within the city limits?
The treehouse consists of 3 separate rooms, each connected by rope-bridges. Descriptions of the 3 rooms are below.
Living Room: Antique furnishings including 80 year old butterfly-filled windows, a 12-candle chandelier, comfortable, antique seating for 6, and a balcony overlooking an acre of lush woods.
Bedroom: Sleeps 2. The pillow-top double bed--fitted with sumptuous, organic linens--is equipped with wheels so it can either be rolled out onto a platform that overlooks the stream below or inside the room for further insulation. A small desk, primitive side-tables, an antique birdcage, Kilim rugs, votives and fairy lights make it comfortable and enchanting.
Deck: Circular seating for 10 and a hammock lying beneath a 150 year old Southern Short-Leaf Pine tree. Open to the elements and immersed in thick greenery.
Guests will have free parking in our driveway (We highly recommend renting a car in Atlanta) and access to a full, private, indoor bathroom within the main house (about a 20 second walk from the treehouses).
Interaction with Guests
Other than showing you around when you arrive and bringing coffee in the morning, we'll completely respect your privacy and leave you alone. However, because the main house is on the same lot, we are readily available if you need help with anything.

From the moment we pulled into the driveway, we knew this place was special. Peter greeted us with a tour of the house and gave us great history and insight into the tree house and trees themselves. He even fell while trying to reconnect a bridge light...such dedication. We felt at ease and really enjoyed the property. It really was an urban oasis, so don't be shocked when you realize it's in between a bunch of other properties. But the peaceful setting and sounds of nature make you forget about all that. The snack and wine basket was a nice touch, as was the morning coffee. We needed a relaxing getaway and the tree house was just the right place. You will love it.
When we arrived, Katie was there to welcome us and give us a tour. As we entered the treehouse, there was a basket of snacks and a bottle of wine waiting for us. There really are no words to explain the experience we had in the treehouses. I highly recommend not planning anything while you are there and just enjoying your time amongst the trees and nature. We are grateful for the experience and would absolutely recommend this to anyone. We celebrated 4 years of marriage in the treehouse and it was so romantic. The PERFECT breakaway from reality. Thank you for sharing this magical place with us and being so welcoming. There is nothing like falling asleep to lightning bugs and waking up to the sound of birds chirping!
This is even more magical than it looks in the photos, and Peter and Katie are fantastic hosts and wonderful people. Our stay will be a special memory for a long, long time.
Katie and Peter were such beautiful hosts! They've thought of everything: providing snacks, a bottle of wine, recommendations for nearby restaurants, tea and coffee brought out every morning, and a private space and bathroom in their home in case of weather, etc. True to their description the treehouse is well secluded and unbelievably serene; they have cultivated something truly special with this treehouse and we consider ourselves lucky to have been able to stay there!
While we only spent one night at the treehouse, it was just what we needed... a perfectly relaxing & restful time away. The bed was cozy & comfy & the dinner recommendation was spot-on. Katie & Peter were so lovely & made us feel right at home. We will most certainly be back soon!
As beautiful as the photos are, they don't fully capture the beauty of the scenery. The treehouses are truly gorgeous! I was a little worried that I would get cold at night, but with the heated mattress pad and a light sweater, it wasn't a problem at all. Peter and Katie also did a wonderful job of making me feel welcome and comfortable. I particularly appreciated having coffee in the mornings. All in all, my stay in the treehouses was a fantastic experience. I only wish I could have spent more time there!
About the Host, Katie And Peter
I work in the wine industry and my husband is an environmental activist and 3d photographer. He built the treehouses as an escape within the city and together, we've made it into a Vacation Home at home! We hoped to create a setting that was both secluded and quiet but also warm and welcoming. Many of our favorite times have happened there--from parties with friends to quiet afternoons reading the paper.
But while we love being at home, we equally love traveling. We find that experiencing new places and meeting new people is as exciting to us as being in our treehouse is calming. Through Airbnb, we want to share our hideaway with other travelers who seek adding something special to their trip and hope that they leave feeling like it was something genuinely special!
Closest big grocery store that's only a 10 minute walk (2 minute drive) from the house.
Always excellent. Great chef. One of the best choices for everything from small plates to a wide variety of salads and entrees..
Hole-in-the-wall Korean Taco spot that's totally delicious.
Great tacos and strong margaritas!
Best pizza in the city!
Popular breakfast/brunch spot that's open all day.
A favorite! Fresh, sustainable Southern food and a fantastic wine list.
Great coffee shop that's open late.
