About This Listing
Suite of 3 connected treehouse rooms within secluded intown Buckhead. Set amongst lush greenery, each room is beautifully furnished with antiques, natural artifacts and the sounds of nature around you. All of this, & it's just minutes from downtown!
Centrally located within the heart of intown Atlanta, the treehouses are a hidden gem. The subject of numerous TV and magazine features, they are often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique place you'll ever stay. What could be better than falling asleep in the trees and waking up to birds singing around you--all within the city limits?
The treehouse consists of 3 separate rooms, each connected by rope-bridges. Descriptions of the 3 rooms are below.
Living Room: Antique furnishings including 80 year old butterfly-filled windows, a 12-candle chandelier, comfortable, antique seating for 6, and a balcony overlooking an acre of lush woods.
Bedroom: Sleeps 2. The pillow-top double bed--fitted with sumptuous, organic linens--is equipped with wheels so it can either be rolled out onto a platform that overlooks the stream below or inside the room for further insulation. A small desk, primitive side-tables, an antique birdcage, Kilim rugs, votives and fairy lights make it comfortable and enchanting.
Deck: Circular seating for 10 and a hammock lying beneath a 150 year old Southern Short-Leaf Pine tree. Open to the elements and immersed in thick greenery.
BATHROOM IS LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT/LOWER LEVEL OF OUR PRIVATE HOME. GUESTS WILL HAVE EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO IT DURING THEIR STAY. The treehouses and main house share a lot and are within a 30 second walk to one another.
Guests will have free parking in our driveway and access to a full, private, indoor bathroom inside the basement of the main house.
Interaction with Guests
Other than showing you around when you arrive and bringing coffee in the morning, we'll completely respect your privacy and leave you alone. However, because the the treehouses and our home share a lot, we are readily available and close by if you need anything.
The neighborhood is a quiet, residential place. While our lot is located in a particularly peaceful, private and lush part of the area, it is important to remember that it is in the middle of intown Atlanta. While you may hear the occasional siren or train whistle during your stay, the most common sound is that of silence broken only by birds, frogs and the wind in the trees.
We highly recommend renting a car during your stay but if you prefer public transportation, we are about a 10 minute taxi-ride from both the Lindbergh and Arts Center MARTA train stops.

Katie and Peter were both very hospitable. This was a surprise for my husband and he was excited and shocked when we arrived. Peter took the time to give us a very detailed tour, and to point out the important do's and dont's of staying in this fabulous tree house. As nature lovers our goal was to have a great time connecting and spending quality time together for our anniversary while enjoying the beautiful world that surrounds us and that we so often miss.
The setting is quiet. This year is a Cicada year and between them and the bull frog we were totally immerse in nature. The running creek, the squirrels, the birds chirping all a perfect part of this tree house ambiance. The decor is welcoming yet it is clean and inviting. We brought our record player, board games, books and we just chilled. We turned off our phones the entire time while on the tree house. We danced, we took naps, we snacked, we connected.
Thank you for sharing so a fabulous and original environment with the rest of us. You have created a space that inspires more of what our world needs: peace, love, connection, simplicity and respect for nature.
We will share your gift we everyone we know. Thank you for helping us share our 18th wedding anniversary in perfect harmony.

This experience was an unforgettable adventure for my husband and that we'll be talking about for a long time. During our two-night stay, we found peace and a new appreciation for the beauty you can only find in nature. Peter was an incredible host and we're so grateful for his hospitality and attention to detail. I had secretly booked this treehouse adventure months before and appreciated how informative Katie and Peter were from the beginning. Between reading the pdf they send, the airbnb listing, raving reviews and a couple blogs and books the treehouse(s) have been featured in, I was bursting at the seams with excitement. I must say, the experience was even better than I could imagine. Bonus: No matter what part of the world we visit, we love scouting out the best food in the area, Peter's suggestions nailed it! A peaceful retreat among the trees with delicious food spots minutes away? We found a piece of heaven on earth. We look forward to visiting again soon!
The treehouse somehow managed to exceed my already high expectations. I'd scrolled through the listing many times and read all the glowing reviews, but none of them compared to the actual experience, which was truly surreal in the best possible way. Peter was a fantastic host, and my girlfriend and I spent way more time in the treehouse than we'd originally anticipated, simply because we didn't want to leave. 12 out of 10 stars.
I cant express how wonderful our trip was to the tree house. Katie and peter both have beautiful souls and it shows with all the hard work they have put in. We had our privacy and decided to stay in instead of go out and explore atlanta and were so glad we did. We will be making trips back!!! Make sure you read the guest book! It really makes you appreciate this place even more.
The Treehouse was great and exceeded expectations. Peter and Katie were gracious hosts. You feel like you have been transported to a different world once you pull into the driveway. We'd recommend this to anyone and hope to be back

It's hard to put the treehouse into words other than its pure Magic. Peter and Katie felt like long time friends and were so welcoming. Peter taking his time to tell us about the place and his life too. I cannot wait to go back and I almost don't want to tell people about it since it's so perfect.
About the Host, Katie And Peter
I work in the wine industry and my husband is an environmental activist and 3d photographer. He built the treehouses as an escape within the city and together, we've made it into a Vacation Home at home! We hoped to create a setting that was both secluded and quiet but also warm and welcoming. Many of our favorite times have happened there--from parties with friends to quiet afternoons reading the paper.
But while we love being at home, we equally love traveling. We find that experiencing new places and meeting new people is as exciting to us as being in our treehouse is calming. Through Airbnb, we want to share our hideaway with other travelers who seek adding something special to their trip and hope that they leave feeling like it was something genuinely special!
