JoAnne and George were wonderful hosts. The room is large, clean and well-equipped. Very comfortable bed. We loved the gourmet breakfasts. We highly recommend this airbnb.
We'd first like to say that the host was very sweet. We have a strict diet and she bought us exactly what we wanted to eat for breakfast. However, this room is not private. The home has an open floor plan. We could hear their conversations with our door closed in the room. The bedding had an intensely fake perfumed scent, which stunk up the whole room, even with the windows open. My wife and I had trouble breathing. We told the host, who said she would rewash the bedding, but it made no difference. Also, the mattress was very uncomfortable and we didn't any sleep.
We are sorry this did not work for you. We have not had any other guests have these issues. The linens had fabric softener, not perfume. To address your concern, we re-washed everything in All Clean and Clear which is free of all perfumes and dyes while you were out. We really went out of our way to address all your needs. Furthermore, we allowed you to check in early and and stay well past check out time. We are sorry you chose to give us a poor review. You should be reminded that Airbnb is a company that puts people in private homes where people live. Perhaps you would find a hotel more accommodating.
We were so happy to meet JoAnne and George, our hosts.
The accommodation was very lovely, spotlessly clean and there were all sorts of treats in our room.
Breakfasts were so good, and JoAnne had gone out of her way to make sure my gluten allergy was respected.
We can't wait to go back!
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying with JoAnne and George! Their house is beautiful and located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. They were such generous hosts, sharing information about the area and answering all of our questions. The room is big, clean, comfortable and very private - it exceeded our expectations! JoAnne and George made us a delicious breakfast and were so fun to spend time with and talk to. We really had a wonderful time and would recommend their home to anyone looking to stay in the area.
The “Scenic Hudson Valley/Near NYC” title is perfectly apt. After a long day of bicycling from Brooklyn to Stone Barnes Center, we so appreciated a warm welcome from JoAnne and her partner George, the calming chirps of crickets and cicadas, and the clean, cool and comfortable bathroom and bedroom. Their home's tranquility and privacy provided an even better respite from the chaotic, cantankerous City than we could have imagined. Refueled in the morning by a delicious fresh breakfast and clear directions to the nature preserve adjacent to the lush backyard, we set off with a fond memory and best wishes for JoAnne and George and their future guests!
I am a retired school administrator. My husband is also retired from the USPS. We are hikers and we enjoy traveling ourselves. We love our house because our property is adjacent to Graham Hills Park which has hiking and biking trails. The Hudson Valley is a beautiful place to visit. There are many fine restaurants and Pleasantville boasts being home to the Jacob Burns Theater. Our proximity to NYC is a plus and Metro North railroad is close by. Now that we have an empty nest, we thought it would be fun to join Airbnb and welcome guests to our home. We will do everything to make your stay pleasant and comfortable.
