Jason was quiet friendly and helpful with us. We easily found the keys to the cleaners next door. The area was beautiful and quiet. The subway was at about 10 minutes at Lexington avenue. Times square and the center was 10 minutes by subway or 30 minutes by feet. It was easy to walk till 5th avenue.
The appartment was not very clean. In my opinion it also needs to be renovated and painted. Jason told us if we wanted to call the cable company but it was not easy while staying in the appartment. After some days he send us clean towels and linens and we cleaned and organized the appartment by ourselves. The bed and the layer were also awful.
There are some restaurants, super markets and shops in the neighborhood.
Our stay started pretty hectic and the worst way possible - due to the key loss of the previous guests the apartment was not ready even though we arrived at 10pm and it was not set up for 4 people ever though we have booked that (no bed linen, sheets etc.). At the time airbnb could not offer anything affordable at 10 pm in the centre of Manhattan so it was pretty horrible to be left waiting until 1am (after 15 hours in the plane)- when the really nice and welcoming cleaning lady had finished. Jason was really understanding and apologising but being in that situation it did not mean a lot - as no one nor Airbnb or Jason could offer acceptable solution. We ended up staying at the apartment for 5 days with a 2 night refund. Apartment has a really nice location and more less everything is as stated in the pictures - definitely could be cleaner!
Excelente estadia en casa de jason! Muy lindo barrio, cerca de todo y muy seguro! Gracias por recibirnos y estar siempre atento y disponible, muy recomendable
I have a mixed opinion about our 5 night stay at Jason's apartment
The flat is very well located, just a few blocks from Central Park and major subway lines on Lexington Ave. Very convenient, safe. The building / street is quiet.
Jason answered quickly to the initial request but then communication was more difficult either via email or text. I usually got no answer before 5 or more days.
Check-in process is not smooth : i was supposed to collect the keys in a restaurant as Jason was not in the city, but the keys were wrong and I had to do several back-and-forth or call to finally get in the apt.
Cleaning was minimal and furniture is basic (old mattress...) which is ok if you spend just a few nights and are out the major part of the day.
Wi-fi did not work during 2 days but Jason finally helped us to fix it
Jason's apt was perfect! was like been in home, in a great great location on manhattan. We take buses and metro from 2 blocks and don't lose time on transport. We get the keys at the time of our arrive and could leave the apt when we want.
