Da'an has numerous shopping areas.
On Zhongxiao East Road, Dunhua South Road and neighboring alleys, there are clothing shops, restaurants serving world cuisines, and major department stores including three branches of the Pacific Sogo Department Store, Breeze Center, the Ming Yao Department Store, and the immense 24-hour Eslite Bookstore.
The East Metro Market runs underneath Zhongxiao Road between metro stations. Specialty markets include the Jianguo Holiday Flower Market, the Jianguo Holiday Jade Market and the Guanghua Computer and Electronics Market.
Da'an's most famous night markets are the Tonghua Night Market, in the east of the district, and the Shida Night Market in the west, near NTNU.
Because of its proximity to NTNU and NTU, the Shida Night Market area is known as a student hangout and is filled with foreign restaurants and student-oriented bars.
Yongkang Street, another popular restaurant area and home to the original Din Tai Fung restaurant, lies to the north of NTNU. Located near NTU is also the Wistaria Tea House, a quiet historic teahouse serving tea in the Gongfu style.
Guangfu Road there are upscale fashion boutiques, elite retail shops including Shiatzy Chen, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, and many of Taipei's renowned "lounge bars".
Other notable places include the Da'an Forest Park, which was built on land formerly occupied by military officers and their families, and the Taipei Municipal Library. The park occupies an area of 26 hectare and includes an amphitheater, concrete roller- and inline-skating rink, ponds, pavilions, paths, and two underground parking lots. The park also has a popular playground for children.
The Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center and Taipei Grand Mosque are also located in Da'an District.
Museums in Da'an District are Museum of Archives, Museum of National Taipei University of Education and Museum of Zoology.
Da'an is better served by the Taipei Metro than any other district of Taipei with the exception of Zhongzheng.
The Wenshan, Nangang, Xindian, Xinzhuang Line, Xinyi Line, and Zhonghe lines all have stations in the district. The district also contains one of Taipei's major interchanges at Zhongxiao Fuxing.
The district ot Da'an is bounded on the east by Guangfu South Road, Keelung Road and Heping East Road; on the south by Neipu, Fuzhou and Toad Hills, and the Xinhai and Zhuangjing Tunnels; in the west by Roosevelt Road, Hangzhou South Road, Xinyi Road and Xinsheng South Road; and in the north by Civic Boulevard. It is bordered by Xinyi District to the east, Wenshan District to the south, Zhongzheng District to the west, Zhongshan District to the northwest, and Songshan District to the northeast.
Other Things to Note

I am living and working in Asia but also in Europe. What other people say abut me…. I am outgoing and spontaneous, easy to excite for new ideas. I know for sure that I am interested in movies, music, opera and - my guests.
Although traveling can be exhausting I still love it and all the little or big adventures connected to traveling. I love to share time with my family and when friends are around I am happy to show them my city.. the old and the modern sides of Taipei. I wished to be able to show you my city and it would be a pleasure to welcome you. In any case and wherever you will stay - Taipei, London or Bali - enjoy a great time and a wonderful journey.
I can’t promise to check you in personally but It is always good to meet someone face-to-face and me or my guest manager will welcome you at the apartment in person and - with a big smile. You will receive detailed check in information at least 6 days prior to your arrival with 2 mobile numbers to call whenever you need assistance. Most probably you won’t reach me on the phone. Please enter the provide mobile numbers into your mobile before you start your journey to ensure easy and direct communication.
Please do not send a message through airbnb in urgent situation - it can take up to 2 hours till I am able to read your message. Please call!
Although we provide additional services like airport transfers, tourist guide, nanny, e.g but to avoid any misunderstanding.
My apartments are NOT HOTELS.
Me and my guest manager team are not concierges or receptionist with a stand by service 24/7. Please lets show each other mutual respect and adequate consideration.
Answers to most frequent questions:
1. All reservations need to be made on airbnb. Airbnb cancellation policy should be respected.
2. The answer to "I am/my friend is in town, can we come over to have a look" is NO. If you are still suspicious after checking out all the photos taken by airbnb photographer and based on many reviews of my guests, you should be confident.
3. All photos of my apartments are taken by an airbnb photographer. it is impossible that they are misleading as there would be no advantage for anybody.
4. If you are not happy in the apartment - please let us know. It is unfair to stay quietly in the apartment but leave me a bad feedback on airbnb. If you have any issue with internet, hot water, heating, air con, e.g. - it is necessary to inform my team asap. Otherwise we have no chance to improve the situation.
3. All my apartments are located in the very heart of a city. Easy access to MTR, tube or 24/7 taxis is always given. If you need to sleep in totally quietness you might consider to stay in a green area outside of the city. You cannot have both - a 100% quiet apartment and staying in the city center. Modern 5 star Hotels might be able to offer that request but again - my apartments are not Hotels but normal residential apartments.
4. If there are unforeseen events like a lift has to get repaired, a neighbour starts drilling, water is off for 2 hours due to maintenance - I am not a Hotel. I cannot move you to another room, I don’t have influence in the maintenance schedule, I cannot ask the neighbour to stop - these things happen in a normal residential home.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
***Excellent location, helpful host, nice apartment *** we were a family of five people traveling to Taipei for leisure. As we have five persons it's quite difficult to book hotels and stay together. I searched for Samantha apartment and it was exactly what we need. Three spacious rooms with a nice living room. You will find everything you need in the apartment. Samantha has been very helpful throughout our stay and come fix anything we requested! There are fruit store and convenient stores downstairs and you will find everything You need. Good communication before and after our stay as well! Thanks Samantha!
This condo is at a great location and the amenities are very family friendly. There is an elevator, which was good, since we had lots of luggage (traveling with an infant means we are packing half of the house)
It's less than 10 min walking distance to the rapid transit / subway station.
There is an evening market right outside.
It has 3 br, 2 of which has queen bed, 1 room has 2 full beds.
Our family (6 adults) and 1 infant stayed here for 4 nights comfortably. Kitchen is well stocked, utensils, microwaves, stoves, which came in handy when heating/making baby food.
There is a washer on the balcony, which is handy for doing laundry.
There is no dryer (common in Asian countries), but lots of hanger to air dry the cloth.
Wifi had a little issue, but the owner is fast in fixing the issue.
Definitely recommended, and will choose this place again next time when we have a big family visiting Taiwan again
