The Mexican border crossing is just a short walk down the hill. We can advise on various dining and shopping adventures since we go there often. (yes, it's safe) . Always bring your passport. It IS another country.

Staying in Dos Marias was a true pleasure! Maybe it would be easier to just explain in list format:
1) Mary was super nice and welcomed us warmly.
2) Mary was very knowledgable about the area and showed us many cool places and delicious restaurants.
3) The home was very clean and tidy.
4) The home had everything we needed.
5) Mary was even nice enough to lend us her unused living room with satellite tv!
6) Best of all, the home is literally across the way from Mexico, making this the best possible location to just walk right to the border.
We will definitely be coming back in some months!
Thanks for everything Mary!
Thank you Tyler & Yuting for sharing your days off with us! It truly is pleasure to host fellow explorers in our own home. We love our home, neighborhood, and community so to share with guests such as yourselves is memorable. So glad all went well and where did you decide for lunch on Monday? Looking forward to next stay ~
About the Host, Mary
My mom and I bought this home in 1998 to be our 'our Year in Provence' project & home. Though I used to live in Bali with my husband, we all enjoy tending to the garden and our historic home. Our neighborhood is just that a 'neighborhood' & is safe enough to walk our dogs in the early evening light. Yes, we overlook Mexico from this apartment's windows and it is all quiet down there. Please bring your passport so you can walk over & support the local economy.
In celebration of the local Wetlands, this location is in the midst of the Produce trucking traffic & a peaceful moment.
Just off the car park & adjacent to the Helipad is a small Labyrinth under large shady trees ~ lovely stop.
An adventure in grocery shopping. Lots of local products and great produce. Perhaps the best bakery in Nogales AND a wonderful & helpful pharmacy.
