THE COTTAGE EXPERIENCE

Sargent Woods Cottage has 1 full bathroom on the ground floor. 2 parking spaces are provided next to the cottage. No pets permitted.

Downstairs
The open kitchen, living, and dining rooms offer views of the 2-acre woodland forest. The sunlit chef's kitchen is a delight for food lovers, equipped with Fisher Paykel appliances and stocked with our favorite cookbooks to spark culinary inspiration. Cook up a Maine classic with our lobster pot and popover pan, or explore the many dining options nearby. Unwind in the spa-inspired bathroom featuring a freestanding soaking tub, rain shower, large picture window with views of the pines, and eco-friendly bath amenities made in New England. After a day of hiking or sightseeing, curl up with a cozy throw by the crackling wood stove and take in the serene views of the surrounding pine forest.

Upstairs
The master bedroom offers a quiet retreat with a queen bed, organic mattress and linens, and a view of the pines. The bunk room features four full beds with organic mattresses and linens, and a view of the pines.

Outdoors
On crisp Maine evenings, gather around the smokeless firebowl in our Adirondack chairs for a sunset cocktail or classic s’mores under the stars. Surrounded by tall pines and peaceful sounds of nature, the cottage offers a true sense of escape. Explore the walking trail, marked by cairns, on our 2 acre property filled with granite outcroppings from the site's historical days as a quarry.

GUEST ACCESS

Coded Entry. We will share an access code within the week of your arrival. Welcome lights will be left on inside and outside the cottage for easy entry. You are welcome to arrive anytime after 4pm. Departure at the end of your visit is 10am.

NEIGHBORHOOD HIGHLIGHTS

Conveniently located on the edge of Acadia National Park between the villages of Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, and Southwest Harbor surrounded by an abundance of National Park hiking and carriage trails, ocean inlets, and lakes.

Newly renovated 100 yr old cottage that was part of the quarrying and farming village of Somes Sound. The cottage sits next door to the historic Sound Schoolhouse restored by the Mount Desert Historical Society.

Sargent Woods Cottage sits 100 feet back from Sound Drive (ME-198S/ME 3 W). This is the main 2 lane road to Northeast Harbor from the head of the Island and Bar Harbor.
