Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and music venue, devoted to the principles of organic farming and self reliance. We grow much of our own food and forge many types of wild mushrooms. You will be sure to enjoy the spectacular view, friendly animals and a private Koi pond.

The space
The apartment is a hand crafted work of art. From the granite floors to the elaborate wooden bed and hand sculpted kitchen, you will be sure to enjoy its unique nature. Luxurious sheets and a memory foam mattress will lull you to sleep! It is a basement apartment, but has an incredible view.

We are the last house on a dead end road. There is a amazing view of Thatcher Park and the surrounding mountains. It has a very remote feel, while Albany is only a short drive.

I am a aspiring homesteader and organic farmer with seventeen years of experience in the landscaping, arboriculture and plant fields. I earned a Bachelor of Technology in Plant Science from SUNY Cobleskill. Originally a native of the Finger lakes area, I moved to the Capital region seven years ago. My partnership in Magic Forest Farm begin in January of 2015. As a avid backpacker and outdoor enthusiast, I am passionate about getting people outside, reconnecting them with nature and their food. I am currently focusing my efforts on agritourism, selling the farm experience.

During your stay

I am a homesteader and rarely leave the seclusion of my farm. I will be happy to answer any question. I go to sleep very early! Please don't contact me after 8pm unless there is a emergency, or problem with the accommodations. Please don't ask me for early check in/late check out, it is too difficult to coordinate with the cleaners. If you would like to learn more about our farm, book a tour. I charge $20 per person.
