The Moonshiner Cabin is a perfectly curated, hand-built treasure. Let it transport you back in time to an era of cocktails and jazz. The owners have lovingly curated this cabin using The Prohibition Era and a bit of steampunk as inspiration and we guarantee there’s nothing else like it! Just a short jaunt to town, yet nestled among the oaks on 1.5 acres, this cabin has everything you require of modern life, but the charm and romance of a different century.

The space
Just outside of Austin, TX, nestled among the hills and streams of the Hill Country, lies the charming little village of Wimberley. Folks visit Wimberley to feel like they’ve traveled back to a bygone era where kids swing off ropes into creeks, everyone knows their neighbor, time slows down, and summer nights under the stars last an eternity. At The Moonshiner Cabin we can help you embrace that nostalgic longing. This cabin was lovingly constructed, designed and curated by the owners, Jennifer and Gregory, who aimed to capture the essence of The Prohibition Era with a little twist of Steampunk. Gregory, a local craftsman, built nearly every inch of the cabin including much of the furniture and all the light fixtures. From the moment you exit your car you’ll feel like you’ve left your modern day existence behind.

Once you step inside you’ll enter an era defined by cocktails, claw-foot tubs, flapper dresses, jazz music, pot stills and flickering lanterns. Don’t get us wrong, we love the luxuries of modern life, but whenever possible we tucked the modern world just a little out of sight. Gregory even designed a hidden smart TV to drop down from the ceiling! You can go modern and watch a movie, connect to WiFi and soak in the hot tub, or go back in time and make a pot of coffee, write an old-fashioned letter and watch the deer graze from the porch rockers. Whatever suits your fancy, we guarantee this is a one-of-a kind vacation rental cabin, and it will treat you to a one-of-a-kind retreat. We hope to have you as our guests!

-pets welcome for fee
-1.5 private acres surrounded by nature
-visible neighbors on one side of the property, but an attractive privacy fence separates the homes
-just 1.5 miles from The Wimberley Square
-all linens and towels provided as well as good coffee
-hot tub, outdoor shower, smart TV, wifi, central air/heat, stocked kitchen, BBQ, fire pit, hammock
-sleeps two only, not suitable for children

Guest access
Guests have full access to the cabin and surrounding property. There is space to park two cars.

Other things to note
Our pet fee is $50/pet. We allow two pets, which you can include in your booking.

The cabin is surrounded by nature on three sides and has a neighbor on the 4th side. There is a nice privacy fence on the neighbor side of the property.

Please note that we have rural trash service. The trash/recycle bins for the homes on our private road are located together at the end of the road.
