Interaction with Guests
I am usually not nearby and you have your privacy.
The winding creek around the cabin...the beautiful horses nearby...the trees overhead...
Other Things to Note
Be careful walking over bridge as it can be slippery during wet seasons. I prefer you not drive over unless you are very comfortable.
No pets. No smoking. No shoes. Please take off your trash (if possible) as we do not have pickup.
Shelby has a wonderfully restful and relaxing cabin with no distractions from TV and the internet, but lots of books to read and CD's to listen to. It is quite rustic looking on the outside but very clean, homey, and comfortable on the inside, and only 10 minutes to town. There are lots of birds and squirrels and we could hear an owl at night (and of course it is Louisiana so there were also mosquitoes at night!) From the from window and the porch one can also see the horses right across the street.
Unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to meet Shelby in person, but she left the refrigerator very well stocked for us with all the essentials and more - she had even taken the time to pick up some gluten free waffles for me.
We would definitely recommend Shelby's cabin as a get-away and would stay here again if we are in the area.
Staying in Shelby's cabin was an amazing experience for me. It had such a good energy about it and was so comfortable and cozy. It was the perfect place to stay while in town visiting family. The kids loved the creek! The king size bed was really comfortable. Shelby is a great host and we hope to stay again the future!
Communication was perfect, the accommodation was perfect, everything about it was perfect. Lovely home near a lovely town. Would definitely stay again. Thanks, Shelby!
Cutest little oasis in the woods! Great place to unplug. My grandbaby caught lightening bugs and frogs. She loved the creek. A grand adventure for us all. Definitely would stay again. The most comfy bed ever too. Thank you Shelby for lending us this place for our visit to Ruston. And the peaches you left us were delicious.
This place was great! Arrived after some heavy rains to an active creek and lush green surroundings.
The cabin is excellent, tucked away from busy traffic, but still close to civilization and conveniences.
Shelby provided a wide array of breakfast items (yummy!) and even left rain boots out for my arrival in case the ground was a bit too muddy after the rain.
As mentioned in previous posts, there is a wonderful collection of music, art, and books. Shelby is a masterful curator, and I appreciated that as I sampled various CDs and books during my stay.
Was a wonderful spot to retreat to for a few days and will definitely recommend it to any friends or family looking for some relaxing downtime. Thanks for opening up your sweet cabin, Shelby!
The cabin was perfect, it was secluded but also easy to find. It was very picturesque and relaxing. Shelby was a great host, the cabin was beautiful and clean. We had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend.
This cabin is like a little slice of heaven. The description doesn't do it justice. Shelby is a very considerate and generous host. I spent 4 nights in this haven in the woods and never wanted to leave! I'm certainly hoping to spend more time there soon.
