Wonderful place near the historical centre - very clean, great shower, and superb breakfast (best we had in the Sacred Valley). Roman, Jean & Itala's son, took excellent care of us.

Maison Fortaleza exceeded expectations. The room was spacious and well appointed, the bed was GREAT and the shower HOT. The hosts were welcoming and accomodating. The location is just a few blocks from the heart of the city. Hope to stay again!

Itala was a wonderful host! She was so welcoming and helped us with tourist recommendations. We felt like we were staying with friends. The place is very cute, clean, and well located, if you don't mind climbing a small hill (we are from San Francisco so used to it). The shower is wonderful, breakfast very nice, the bed is comfortable, and the furnishings a nice blend of Swiss & Peruvian. The place is tucked away in a quieter neighborhood, but Cusco is noisy, with barking dogs, etc. If you are a light sleeper, definitely bring your earplugs and eye-mask (especially for the beautiful double room with skylight). Great value for a nice visit to Cusco--definitely would recommend.

Itala was such a warm and gracious host. She went above and beyond to accommodate us despite the random requests we had. On our last day, we had to wake up at an ungodly hour to be picked up for our Salkantay Trek. She didn't have to, but she woke up early as well to make sure our ride found us and picked us up. It was great having conversations with her about Cusco in general and Peruvian life. The location of the house was perfect. It was in an historic neighborhood within walking distance to many charming plazas, including the main square. The rooms were super clean and spacious. The breakfast was amazing and had all our favorite quality staples - fruit, yogurt, granola, eggs, and the biggest, tastiest local avocados. We made great memories in Peru and would recommend this place to anyone.

This place was perfect in every way possible! Itala was an amazing host and our trip wouldn't have been the same without her. Located at the top of the hill (many steps to reach the top from the main Plaza) check in was a breeze. We were welcomed with Coco leaf tea. The altitude was a real thing but tea immediately helped. Our room was just like the pictures. Extra alpaca blanket for the cold nights. They do have heat and turn it on at night which we found to be rare anywhere in the Sacred Valley area. Bathroom & Shower were clean and stayed hot entire time. Breakfast was the best part of our day. Delicious variety of fruits, breads, juice, avocado, yogurt, fresh coffee, teas and eggs made to order. Seriously got spoiled with this as we found nothing else compared in our other places. Itala made great recommendations on things to do, places to eat, local tips, assisted with getting us to the top of Rainbow Mountain, getting taxis set up for day tours and to the airport. She is super knowledgeable, sweet and I can't wait to see her again. If you're lucky enough to stay here you will not be disappointed. It was one of the best places we've had the opportunity to stay. So much to do in Cusco and with her assistance we felt like we got to see the city and area!

Itala's place is located in the quieter part of town - which is great because we got to sleep through the night- but it is also within walking distance to the Plaza de Armas and Saksaywaman. Her house is comfortable and welcoming. Itala was very helpful and available during our stay. She shared her knowledge as a local Cusconian and answered my end-less questions on Peruvian culture! She also helped us book a last-minute tour to the Planetarium and arranged a local taxi to the airport on our departure. I would definitely recommend staying at Itala's house when in Cusco.

My name is Itala, I'm a peruvian, originally from Cusco and I've been working as a tour guide for 25 years. With my swiss husband Jean we make a multicultural couple and we have 2 children.
We love to welcome our friends in our house so our Airbnb guests will be treated like friends and we also like them to feel at home. We can also advise them about what to do in the Cusco region (arts, archeology, restaurants, music, local market). We speak spanish, french and english...
