  • Mark's apartment was perfect for a week's working stay in Manhattan ! The place was very clean and comfortable and services were abundant in the area. The commute to Midtown Manhattan was easy with the subway. Will definitely consider staying here again next time when in town !

  • The appartment is really comfortable and lovely. It has everything you need, close to many metro stations. The neibourhood is very quiet and safe. We really enjoyed our stay there ! Although we didn't meet Mark he was really helpfull with everything we needed, he was a very good host. I'll probably come back here the next time i'm in New York.

  • Stayed in the the apartment for 2 weeks with a friend. We found an apartment even better than the one described! Perfectly clean and lovely decorated. Its very confortable, and you might find everything you need! Towels, fully equipped kitchen, etc
The apartment is located just a fez blocks away from many metro station, delis and markets, so the location is very conveniently.
    Excellent!

  • Nice appartment close from 2 metro stations. Fully furnished as described, mark is a cool guy, it's easy to talk to him. Only one weak point: the heater makes a lot of noise during the night !

  • My husband and I had a fantastic stay at Mark and Laura's studio apartment, and were plotting our return before we had even left...as luck would have it, on the final day of our 3 night getaway, we awoke to a blizzard of snow, with Laura suggesting that we wouldn't be leaving anytime soon, and just to relax and plan on staying another night, or until we could catch a flight home - "without charge, of course". This conversation took place hours before our flight had been officially cancelled. These exact sentiments were echoed by Mark, via E-mail, who himself was stranded out in Colorado by the same storm. WOW! This is hospitality in its highest form, above and beyond anything we might have reasonably (email hidden)ese are phenomenal people and wonderful hosts.

All of our communication prior to booking and during our stay was prompt and clear. There is a most helpful "information book" sent as an E-mail, a copy of which is in the apartment, which lists everything from recommended shops and restaurants in the neighborhood, to a pediatrician, dentist and all-night pharmacy, with addresses and telephone numbers included-no stone left unturned. This is the very sort of reassuring trove which would make even someone from far, far away feel instantly at ease.
The apartment is beautiful, airy and spacious, with a combination of lovely natural light from two large south-facing windows, and very cheerful and flattering overhead fixtures.
All of the furnishings, textiles and kitchenware have been chosen with obvious care, and reflect a refined, happy and relaxed aesthetic.
The bed is a dream, with down comforter and pillows- we slept the sleep of the dead. Additional pillows, comforters, blankets and quilts were within easy reach, although all was perfect without any alteration whatsoever.
The bathroom is large and gleaming - again the flattering lighting, and a dimmer switch - with walls, floor and ceiling surfaced with the same interesting "tile". Modern fixtures, in immaculate condition, include an extra deep and long bathtub for soaking, as well as a great, strong shower. More than enough storage shelving in the bath for all of our essentials, plus tons of soft, fluffy towels. The owners also provide nice toiletries, as well as a blow dryer, and a First Aid kit!
Although we only used the kitchen facilities to make coffee, there is everything here that one would need for " cooking in ": china, flatware, glasses, mugs, pots and pans, cutting boards, knives, corkscrews and serving trays - even some basic pantry supplies, like sugar, olive oil and flour!
While in a beautiful, urban neighborhood, street noise was virtually nonexistent; occasional sounds from upstairs were exactly those which one would expect to hear in a shared space - and were not a concern at all.
This location is absolutely ideal. Everything necessary is within easy walking distance from the apartment, and the Metro to Manhattan, or to other Brooklyn neighborhoods, is nearby, and only a few stops later you are there!

  • Mark's place was fantastic. Great location, nice interior and very friendly hosts. I fully recommend staying at his place!

  • I loved staying in this apartment. It is spacious and well-furnished. The bed was very comfortable and there's plenty of shelves and closets for all your stuff, including the bathroom (I bring a lot of bottles on all my trips and had no problem finding plentiful space for them in the bathroom, which NEVER happens in hotels, even the expensive ones.) I really appreciated the thoughtful, generous touches like nice liquid toiletries, lots of spare towels, enough dishes to throw together a simple meal, and adaptor a for my European appliances. The location is super convenient. I recommend the Betty bakery on Atlantic!!!

The only rather small lminus is that you do hear the footsteps of the family living upstairs, and much of their conversation, so I played music a lot of the time to create a distraction. Mark was very accommodating regarding a late checkout. I will be back in a heartbeat.
