Bella Notte is an old Tudor Mansion in North Avondale about four blocks from Xavier University. The home has two central air conditioning units and four of the seven bedrooms are available for rent. Each bedroom has a private bath, but two of the bedrooms can share an adjoining bath to become a 2BR suite for convenient family use.
The fifth bedroom is an exercise room featuring a computerized recumbent bike with a display of simulated bike trails as well as a small HD monitor for viewing DIRECTV while working out with the free weights or on the mat.
Bedrooms six and seven are occupied by the owner and used as an office.
Since Air BnB requires separate listings for each room there are four listings, one for each available room. Be sure to check all four calenders for availability. For your convenience all rooms are pictured in all four listings to aid in your decision.
All rooms have individually keyed privacy locks for your security and a wireless network gets you on the internet. Every room has a desk that will accommodate a laptop. Televisions are not supplied in the rooms but DIRECTV and Netflix may be watched in the den, and DVDs are available on loan from an extensive collection that you may take to your room and watch on your laptop. Three of the rooms have a shower in the bath, two have a tub as well. One room has no shower but features a jacuzzi. Also there is a separate bath off the exercise room and another on the first floor close to all the dining areas for your convenience.
This listing is for the Southwest room. It is very spacious and gets good light all day long. The room features a small desk and a large armoire not pictured in the photographs. The private bath features a shower with seven shower heads, but no bathtub.
Some rooms feature a CD player or an iPod player to listen to music. The entire house and patio is a non-smoking area. We do not accept pets or small children at this time, but future plans include changes to make Bella Notte a child friendly environment. We have a gentle cat in the house, so if you are allergic to cats, this is not the place for you. Three rooms feature Queen size beds and one, the Gold room, is a full. Future plans are to upgrade this room to a queen size bed.
There is a 24/7 coffee station and a mini-fridge centrally located on the 2nd floor available to all the rooms. The mini-fridge is stocked with complimentary, cold bottled water and the single serve coffee station, also complimentary, features regular, decaf, espresso and flavored coffees.
There are four areas where breakfast can be served, The dining room seats ten. The sunny breakfast nook seats four. The solarium seats six and the patio seats four.

Our kitchen is large and the menu features over three dozen exciting offerings for breakfast. Each morning will feature one egg-based breakfast, one grains-based breakfast and one fruit-based breakfast as well as juices, teas and coffees including espressos, lattes and cappuccinos. Our goal is to provide you a healthy and creative start to each day. We will make every effort to accommodate your special requirements, such as food allergies or simply just likes and dislikes.
Street parking is abundant in a safe neighborhood where residents walk their dogs and jog at all hours. Off street parking can accommodate up to four cars. Downtown is about 5 miles away and UC is even closer. The bus stops with frequency a scant block away. Many fine restaurants exist in the Hyde Park area, which is about 2 miles from our location as well as a few in Norwood and in St. Bernard, both just a little over a mile. The best mall shopping is in Kenwood, about six miles away but Hyde Park boasts many fine shops and malls as well. We are centrally located with easy access to both I71 and I75 as well as 562 known locally as the Norwood Lateral. There are several easy to follow surface roads that lead to the main areas of the city and downtown as well, that can get you there without any traffic, any time of day or night in just minutes. The airport, which is in Kentucky is about 30 miles away but if you want to get a better airfare you can fly into Dayton, a 50 minute drive.
Special arrangements can be made for long term guests who wish to have all their meals served here at Bella Notte.
This was a great experience! From the time Michael opened the door greeting me by name to the time I left, I was glad I chose to stay at Bella Notte. Beautiful neighborhood full of gorgeous homes. I travel to Cincinnati often for business and I usually stay at very overpriced and boring hotel rooms. Staying at Bella Notte felt like I was staying with family. I'm glad I chose to do this.
We stayed over the 4th of July and had a wonderful time. Michael was very kind to accommodate our late night arrival and was a delightful host. Our room was artfully decorated, private bath was clean and well appointed, and the bedding was of the highest quality. Breakfast was delicious, Italian fritata (eggs over grilled vegetables) with cinnamon raisin toast, french press coffee and fresh orange juice. We enjoyed hearing about the history of this gorgeous mansion and Michaels career in music and film. The overall atmosphere of this comfortable home is perfect. My only regret is that we never met his pet cat, so I guess we'll have to visit again!

It was a pleasure meeting Mike and staying at his B&B. He serves fantastic breakfasts (Thai-flavored omlette; Eggs Benedict on a croissant), and it was enlightening talking with him about his interests, including the Kennedy Assassination! He's been working on remodeling his Tudor home for the past couple of years and while there are still a few rough edges, we had no regrets at all about staying there. Very nice living room lounge, filled with interesting books, and our room (Southwest) was perfectly functional and comfortable.
My brother and I stayed in Michael's gorgeous home while traveling through Cincinnati on a road trip. Michael's home is just beautiful, his art collection is fantastic, as is his music collection which he kindly shared with us. Michael was very easy to get a hold of and accommodated us with grace when we arrived very late at 4am. Michael is a wonderful host and a fabulous chef (he probably will say he just loves to cook) but his breakfast was incredible! We had breakfast with the other house guests and enjoyed great food as well as conversation. Wonderful time had by all.
My husband and I stayed at Bella Notte after attending the opera in downtown Cincinnati, which is only 5 minutes from the house. The Southwest Room is as pictured, very spacious, and the bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. Having bottled water and coffee available in the upstairs hall all the time was appreciated. We had a scrumptious breakfast - not your mama's oatmeal! - and lots of hot coffee and good conversation with Michael and the other guests in the morning. We will be staying here when we attend late-ending events in Cinci.
My daughter and I shared the Southwest Room of the lovely Bella Notte for two nights in June and enjoyed it very much. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was wonderful, and the breakfasts were out-of-this-world delicious. We were able to eat breakfast when it was convenient to our schedules which worked well for us. We hope to stay there again
Stayed in the Southwest room which was exactly as described, well furnished, beautifully decorated, and most comfortable with an awesome shower---highly recommend.
We were most pleased with our stay and Michael's hospitality. He is an engaging host/communicator who enjoys sharing his beautiful home and knowledge of the area. Michael has lived in varied locales and his experiences are most interesting. Breakfasts were superb and the sound system is outstanding. Coffee/tea/bottled water available 24/7.
Quite sure if you prefer to be totally on your own, and not engage in conversation, Michael would excel at that as well.
As others have previously stated, Michael is a thoughtful host. His attention to detail was evident in every part of our stay from the room to the lovingly prepared breakfasts. If you're looking for a unique experience outside the cookie cutter hotel stay, this is the place for you.
Believe everything everyone else is saying. Incredible house, host, and awesome breakfast. Make sure you explore the house and hear Michaels story. There's cool rooms everywhere, loaded with his fascinating things. He's real into the history of music, and loves to show off what superb sound is all about. Ask him. I got to watch him work away in his kitchen. That was a treat. It was a perfect weekend in Cincinnati - weather-wise - so mornings on the front porch were the perfect start. Cincinnati exploring requires a good GPS, but North Avondale is really central to anywhere. There's no question that I would recommend Belle Notte to anyone that wants a non-hotel experience.
I can't say enough about Bella Notte. Michael was delightful and a gracious host. His home is gorgeous. The food was over the moon.
