We have a great Queen bed "granny" flat built just for casual use by our friends and family. We just finished a "to the studs" renovation of a designer home in the heart of the Inner Richmond. Enjoy radiant heated floors, great backyard, hot tub, fire pit, kitchen, keyless entry.
This flat was built just for this. It's pimped out just to handle two guests and a little one if you want them in a pack-n-play. A detached bedroom, detached shower/toilet, an efficiency kitchen will make a for a perfect stay.
Our home was just gutted and renovated with designer/architect specializing in Victorian/Craftsman revival. You'll have access to an amazing backyard oasis with a fire pit, water fountain, pro grill and yes... a new hot tub. The flat has its own private outdoor patio and private entrance via keyless entry from the street. Join us and take the Segways to the Golden Gate Park or a hike in the Presidio, run to the Bridge or walk the Little Russia on Geary or Clement's Lil Chinatown. Easy access to MUNI, SFO and Marin County.
We're open to greet you and meet or give you the privacy you want for a weekend away. Have Mom and Dad stay here and come and enjoy the backyard with them. This is our fulltime home so we're here but can give you all the space you need.

We had a great experience staying at Adina's place. Adina and her family are simply wonderful people; their warmth and friendliness made us feel very much at home.
And oh, the place itself. The apartment is gorgeous, the outdoor space lovely (how often does your temporary home come with a hot tub and grill?), and the location is great. You are easy walking distance to all of the good stuff on Geary (the Russian bakeries and groceries, House of Bagels, and so forth) not to mention easy access to the inner Richmond and the Clement corridor. We also loved being able to walk to Golden Gate park and the quick bus ride to the beach.
We found the place was very reasonable for the three of us (me, my wife, and my daughter), but one should note that the bedroom doesn't have a door, which could be an issue for very light sleepers.
Anyway, I can't recommend this enough --- if it's available, you should stay here.
We had a great long weekend staying in Mark and Adina's flat.
This is a truly amazing space. It has everything you could need for your stay.
Very well appointed and beautiful. They have outdone themselves renovating the extra space.
The backyard and garden area is so tranquil and inviting. Looks great for an evening of relaxing with a glass of wine or a good pale ale.
We didn't have time to take advantage of the space but I wish we would have...hopefully next time.
The neighborhood is fantastic. The great thing about San Francisco is you can get anywhere you want to be in the city within 20 min.
With that being said, the area is very safe. We walked to dinner and the store late in the evening without us feeling we weren't safe at any time.
Plenty of places to eat, grab a drink or markets within walking distance.
If you have a car, the area looks crowded but you can usual find parking within half a block in about 5 min time.
One thing I do just suggest is you need read the parking signs! We did get a parking ticket for street cleaning. Our fault for not reading the signs, but can easily be overlooked when you are not from the area and are on vacation.
This is a perfect place for a couple, or young family of 3 or 4 max.
The Safers made us feel at home and we would absolutely recommend someone to stay here. I know we'll be back.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay here and would come back for sure - we actually stayed here twice. For those considering a trip to SF, I would highly recommend this property. The location and amenities are excellent, not to mention the helpful and relaxed nature of the hosts. To highlight some of the additional bonuses
- we were welcomed on arrival and Adina had a car space reserved on the street for us (really appreciated this as we were on a road trip and had our own rental car)
- short walk (or Segway!) to Golden Gate bridge / beach / presidio park
- the best coffee, bagel house and pizza close by
- separate entrance and privacy for those looking for this
We thought this is a great place if you're after a quiet night in with a cooked meal by the fire or relax in the spa. Also an easy cab ride to downtown or walk to nearby shops restaurants.
My boyfriend and I spent just over a week staying in Adina's garden flat. We had a fantastic stay and could not have been made to feel more welcome.
The flat itself is very clean and well kitted out with everything we needed for our stay, with a lovely bathroom with a nice strong shower. The kitchen was also well equipped with everything that we needed.
The outdoor facilities were really fantastic. Each evening we would sit on the patio-decking area around the fire pit and see the evening in with a nice glass of wine. We even managed to make use of the hot tub - a real treat!
It's worth mentioning too, that the location was really good for a relaxing city break; right between the Presidio and Golden Gate Parks, and in easy reach of Downtown, the Marina, Fisherman's Wharf, and of course just minutes away from the Golden Gate bridge!!
Above all Adina, Mark and their lovely, very polite children really made our stay special. They went above and beyond to tell us everything that we wanted to know about the city and gave us endless recommendations for restaurants, walks and the must-sees around the area.
To top off a great stay, Mark and Adina have a couple of Segways which they were more than happy to let us borrow; it takes a minute or two to get used to riding them, but after that, there are hours of fun to be had zipping around - a really speedy way to see the sites!
Adina's place was the perfect base for a week in san francisco, we would absolutely recommend them for anyone looking for a home from home experience with a little luxury.
We had a great time in San Francisco and in the apt! It looked exactly as in the pictures and was clean and nice. Adina arranged with an extra twin bed for one of our sons to sleep on and also an extra chair in the kitchen. They even lended us a stroller, since our was delayed. We had our privacy even though we shared the garden with the Safer family. We felt very safe in the neighbourhood and Adina gladly recommended various restaurants and other excursions. The apt is within walking distance to Golden Gate Park and the Presidio and the ocean is also quite near. We really recommend the apt! It is perfect for a small family with two kids (3 yrs and 6 months).
Fantastic apartment and fantastic hosts. Adnas's apartment is really awesome, in a quiet neighborhood and she and her family are great hosts. Public transport, restaurants and Golden Gate Park are only 5 min walking distance, so it is a perfect starting point to explore San Francisco. We fell in love with this place and the city - and will come back for sure.
My mom and I stayed in Adina's flat for a couple of days while visiting San Francisco. The space was beautifully renovated and very clean. We had a wonderful time exploring the city and the nearby Golden Gate Park. Adina and her family were gracious hosts and always helpful whenever we had questions. Overall, it was a great experience staying with the Safers!
Me and my friend came from Sweden to stay in this wonderful apartment for two weeks. We had a late cancellation from another apartment so only three weeks before takeoff we booked this apartment, which we are not sorry about. We couldn´t have a better place to stay at and we had the time of our lives in SF.
The apartment looks exactly as in the pictures and was very clean and nice. The Wi-Fi worked great and there was a TV in the room. In the mornings we sometimes had our coffee out in the backyard which was really nice.
One of our best memories was when the family lend us their Segway’s. We went to Presido Park and got the best view over Golden Gate Bridge.
We also went to the Golden Gate Park which was nearby and thanks to the Segway’s we could see almost the entire park which would have been impossible if we walked.
We used the hot tub one night and it was so nice and relaxing for our sore bodies after a long day of sightseeing and shopping.
The bus that takes you to Union Square is 5 min from the apartment, it goes every 10 minutes and took about 30 min and we actually enjoyed going home from the busy and noisy city to the nice and quiet area of Richmond.
In the area there is a supermarket, some shops and restaurants, a few days we took an early night in with take away food. Ask Adina for the great thai restaurant on Geary, really good and pricy food, we miss it a lot.
Keep in mind that this is a one room apartment which means that you have to share it with the refrigerator which was quite loud sometimes, bring earplugs for the night like we did and you should be fine. Also we think the walls in America are a bit thin so sometimes it was a bit noisy from upstairs.
Adina and her family were so nice and helpful and made us feel comfortable and we would love to come back and would absolutely recommend you and all our friends and family to stay here.
Adina and her family were extremely gracious hosts during my recent stay in SF. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to call home for the better part of a week in the Richmond district. The flat was immaculately clean and well appointed, and everyone in the family (including their adorable, well behaved children) went great lengths to ensure that I had everything I needed at all times. Was a pleasure getting to know the Safers during my stay!
