Imagine waking up to the sounds of birds flying overhead. You step out onto the deck of this beautiful houseboat for a stunning view of Doctor's Lake. You sip your coffee while enjoying the patio furniture, or go back in to have breakfast in the cozy dining area. After a day out enjoying the sights, you are greeted with a cool cabin (via the two Air Conditioning units) and enjoy your dinner, cooked in the full kitchen, out on the deck as you watch the manatees play while the sun melts into the horizon. Then go curl up in the spacious interior of this house boat for your favorite TV show, or even a movie in the Blue Ray DVD player. Don't forget the popcorn! Which is easily cooked in the kitchen microwave. After taking a hot shower in one of the two bathrooms, you end your day being gently lulled to sleep by the sounds of the night around the lake.

Staying on the houseboat was a unique experience. The view across the lake was amazing; especially the sunset. It was like camping. It is good for two people and possibly a couple with two small children; otherwise, the space is limited. It needs some attention and updating; it is a fairly rustic and cabin-like.
My wife and I stopped to stay in the houseboat for only 2 nights before continuing on to an Orlando resort. We wish we would have stayed on the boat the entire week. What a fun experience! Great communication via airbnb messaging and via text. The community atmosphere of those who live at this marina was wonderful. The resident "mayor," Bob, lives on his boat a few slips down and was super friendly and invited us to hang out with him and his wife for an evening. Highly recommend staying here for anyone that wants to experience something a little different than a standard vacation room. We'll definitely stay again when we travel through Jacksonville the next time.
The best & most fun vacation ever! Daniel was very prompt in responding to messages & Dave was AWESOME at showing us the ins and outs of the boat (who knew flushing a toilet could take 3 steps?). Dave made my children & I feel completely at home and even gave them a ride around the marina parking lot on the day we checked out (making him their hero-of-the-day). The boat is awesome; way more spacious than the pics make it look. The kids loved their little "hidey-hole" of a bedroom and the fact that their whole bathroom turned in a shower just rocked their world.
I, personally, love my bedroom; the mattress was incredibly comfy and I was able to leave my window open when I slept, which was wonderful. The other folks who live in the boats on the dock were so sweet, too, taking time to talk, show my kids fish they had caught, and discuss where they/we were from.
Before we arrived, I was worried about feeling safe (as a single mom to two kids), but it was never even an issue once we arrived. I would have slept out on the top deck of the boat if it hadn't been getting down to 60* at night. :)
If you're looking for a fun & unique & exciting & different adventure for you and/or your family, stay here. I fully intend to come back; maybe even alone so I can actually rest. ;)
We are boaters but live up North so staying on Daniel's houseboat in February was an amazing treat. I could not believe how big the living space was! Everything was super clean and comfy. Even the shower was great and I am tall! Would highly recommend this unique experience to anyone... Already have! Can't wait to come back! Also the gentleman who works at the dock is super nice, informative and helps to make you feel right at home.
