Set on nearly two acres of natural hillside landscape, the property offers privacy and frequent sightings of toucans, monkeys, iguanas, and birds, while being just a 10-minute drive to Atenas.

The space
Casa Feliz is a private hillside retreat perched above the Atenas valley, offering sweeping mountain views, peaceful surroundings, and frequent wildlife sightings. Guests often spot toucans, monkeys, iguanas, and many species of birds right from the deck or pool area.

Casa Feliz is best enjoyed by guests who appreciate nature, privacy, and the slower pace of life in Costa Rica.

The main living area opens fully to the outdoors through large sliding glass doors, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. The attached deck features a custom-made teak patio set and an elegant outdoor dining table and chairs. Many guests spend their mornings here enjoying coffee while watching birds glide across the valley and clouds drift through the mountains.

Next to the deck is a separate patio with chaise loungers beside the infinity pool, a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surrounding scenery.

The house is only a few years old and features modern appliances, 400GB fiber optic Wi-Fi, a smart TV, plush linens, and comfortable mattresses.

The home has two bedrooms. The primary bedroom includes a queen bed, an en-suite bathroom with shower, and beautiful valley views. The second bedroom also has a queen-sized bed and access to a separate full bathroom with another shower.

The kitchen is fully stocked with essential cookware and most small appliances you might need during your stay.

The home faces east toward the mountains, offering beautiful sunrises and bright morning light.

Casa Feliz sits on nearly two acres of natural hillside terrain in a peaceful community and is accessed by scenic winding mountain roads typical of the Atenas area.

Because the home is surrounded by tropical nature, you may occasionally see insects or other small creatures common in Costa Rica. The home is professionally cleaned and maintained to keep the indoor spaces comfortable for guests.

You are about a 10-minute drive from downtown Atenas, a charming town with a central square, excellent restaurants, and a modern Coop grocery store.

Atenas is located in Costa Rica’s Central Valley about 40 minutes from San José International Airport (SJO) and makes a convenient base for exploring beaches, rainforests, waterfalls, volcanoes, coffee plantations, and many other attractions.

Guest access
The only closed off space is the owners bedroom (they will not be there). Otherwise the rest of the house and grounds are available for your exclusive use.

Other things to note
Given the mild climate year-round, there is no need for air conditioning or heating. There are ceiling fans, portable fans and cool mountain breezes at night. But note there is no A/C.

This property is not appropriate for young children given the location on a steep slope and a deck with open railings.
