Hi, I have a lovely sunny bedroom to rent, very centrally located about a 10 minute walk from Stephen's Green. 5 minutes walk fom the green luas line, and 3 minutes to buses. The 16a bus goes from the airport to a few minutes walk of the house. its by the leafy Portobello end of the canal, with swans and sunshine. Close to the Iveagh gardens, a small gem of a park, with fountains and a waterfall.(even some Dubliners don't know about this one!) Close to the National concert hall, and Dublins lively Camden street. You can smell the hops from the Guinness Brewery on some days.
The room is suitable for couples or singles. I live here with my lovely cat, and am pretty easy going. There is a shared living room, bathroom and kitchen. Sunny decking complete with Hammock. Facilities include cable tv, wireless internet, reverse osmosis filterd water, washing machine, electric shower, open fire and purring cat! Students and travellers from all over are welcome!
Dublin is a city that everyone raves about. Displaced locals get all misty-eyed about the pubs, the craic, the hilarious, friendly people they left behind.
So make a detour down that side street, spend a few hours trailing through the parks and gardens, take your time in the museums, talk to people in the pubs, watch a hurling match, ride the DART out of town to Howth, Dalkey and Malahide, catch a play, or just sit on the Liffey boardwalk and let it all pass you by.
Whatever you decide to do, you can rest assured that at least one of the clichés about this city really is true: Dublin genuinely does have something for everyone.
The kitchen(all pots pans microwave, oven, shelf in fridge The living room (Tv, stereo, some dvds), wireless internet,Bathroom, back yard, basically all areas except my room and other guests! :)
I like to get to know my guests, i will sit down and chat with you. I have a real interest in people, but equally will give people their space if i sense they need that.
Portobello, is a beautiful area of Dublin, much sought after for rental and buyers alike. Known often as the Village quarter , it has many funky bars ( The George Bernard Shaw) restaurants ( The Seagrass, Locks ) and Cafes (The Lennox Bistro, Nellys )
There is convenient public transport, but everywhere is walkable. Citybikes ( a rental system) is at the end of the street.

I stayed there for 9 nights in March, Mim is an accommodating host. She provided the basic necessities and a few fruits with bread to start off my morning. Mim's location is wonderful, it's near an awesome cafe, and town. And she even offered a ride to the supermarket to get me started.
I have no complaint about the room, it's big, spacious and sunny. The room is warm enough but if you are afraid of cold like me, Mim provides an electric blanket which is great. However, for people who are more conscious about cleanliness, I suggest cleaning the inner wardrobes and drawers. It is clean on the surface but not in the inside.
In conclusion, it wasn't really a pleasant experience for me, but it differs from people to people.
My stay (several weeks) at Mim's was a great experience I will always gladly remember back on. Her house is over 100 years old and really cozy. The only downside is that it is pretty cold in the winter and it isn't perfectly isolated...
Apart from that, I really had a lot of fun at Mim's. My room was really big and everything I needed was provided (a closet, two dressers, a desk, even a nice rocking chair, a big bed with an electric blanket, towels, iron, ironing board, laundry rack). I also had a cupboard in the kitchen, a designated place in the fridge and in the bathroom for my things. Her kitchen is good equipped and has a great blender which I was allowed to use. I just missed a dishwasher.
Mim is a wonderful person and she really gives her best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and helps whenever she can. She welcomed me with tea and cookies, helped me choose a mobile provider for my phone, washed my clothes, arranged an appointment at the doctor for me and when she made one of her delicious soups, she made some extra so that I could have some.. to only name a few examples. When I moved out, she helped me and gave me a ride with all my suitcases which I really appreciated.
The location is great: It is near to the city and you can walk everywhere so you do not need a bus ticket. For example, it takes you about 30 minutes to Temple Bar and 10-15 to Grafton Street. If you do not want to walk all the time, you can also take a Dublinbike since there are two stations by. There are also a lot of supermarkets nearby (Tesco, Spar, Aldi, Lidl) and numerous cafés, pubs and restaurant on Camden Street. The canal is just down the street and it is really nice to walk along it up to the Grand Canal Dock.
To sum it up, it was a really nice stay at Mim's and I would recommend it to people who are staying in Dublin for a short term. I was planning on staying at Mim's for three months, but shortened my booking and moved to an own apartment since it is cheaper.
I think Miriam means insulated... My home is Insulated, unfortuantely we had very bad storms In Ireland and I lost part of my roof. Her room has been especially insulated as its the biggest room in the house. It was unfortunate that one of the holes was over her room ( the other was over mine!) They have been completely repaired now, a whole new roof , to my relief, and i can only apologise for it. Not anything I could control. I compensated by doing as much as I could to Help, her washing, helping her move, making soup, arranging as much as I could. I wish her well, and hope to see her again :)
I had an amazing two weeks with Mim and her cat Gem. I felt very welcomed and at home. Mim was always very nice and was helpful at all times. If you enjoy being at a second home from yours - you'll love it here
Definitely would rent again :)
I lived at Mim's home for a whole month in October 2013 and, to sum up, I felt at home. My room was very spacious, bright, with a warm double bed, plenty of space to keep my things and even with a desk I found really useful to study and work with my laptop.
I had full access to a well equipped kitchen and a complete bathroom with instant hot water. In both I had my designated space large enough to keep my food and toilet stuff.
Thanks to Mim and to the simple rule system of the home there was a friendly and respectful atmosphere. Mim is a very positive person, open minded, with a great sense of humor and always ready to help and advice you. By the way, I was so lucky to hear her singing sweet songs on several occasions. And of course there was also Gem, her lovely cat who from time to time slept by my door like an authentic guardian.
In addition, the home is located in a beautiful, safe and quiet neighborhood, within walking distance to the city center and the Rathmines area, plenty of shops where to find whatever you need.
Honestly, I'm very happy to have spent one month of my life at Mim's.
I'd happily recommend a stay at Mim's home, which is located in a cute and quiet neighborhood an easy walk away from the city centre. Her house is cozy and full of personality (a little crowded downstairs, but organized, cheerful, and generally tidy). Mim is warm and helpful, and welcomed me with tea the evening I checked in, though she herself was coming home from a holiday. My room was clean, spacious, and, true to description, sun-lit all day. Some people might find the variety of house rules a bit hard to keep track of, but the post-it system keeps things running smoothly, in my opinion! Thanks, Mim!
We had such a lovely stay at Mims! She was so sweet and her house so cozy. Also can't forget about Gem, the cutest cat! Staying at Mims was great as her house was in the perfect location and just near Camden Street (great for restaurants, bars, shops, etc.) Very quiet and easy to come and go. This was our first AirBnB experience and it was perfect. Had a great time in Dublin and would love to go back and stay with Mim!
Mim has a great central apartment in walking distance to all attractions and tourist spots in Dublin.
Even when we got out at the wrong bus station, she picked us up personelly! She is a nice, polite and helpfull person. Everything went perfect! We (email hidden) Patricksday Weekend in Dublin and one of the main reasons for that was Mim!
Demasiadas normas, casa muy fría y la higiene no es muy abundante
It was our first Air Bnb experience and mim was Exceptional!
We were welcomed with Tea, coffee or Soup, and the room was amazing, clean, spacious and lockable!
We had our own designated area in the kitchen and bathroom, which was very useful. The location of the house is a short walk to the city centre, and there is also a Lidl and Aldi near by for groceries.
We would definatley recommend Mims place to other Airbnb-ers, and if we are ever in Dublin again, mim would be our first line of contact!
