You'll have a wall to wall, and floor to ceiling windows which allow for awesome sunlight. The blinds can be adjusted for privacy or total darkness if you choose to sleep late. You get wall to wall carpet in this 400 square foot studio with a beautiful separate eat-in kitchen packed with appliances including oven, stove, fridge, microwave, coffee grinder/maker, and all the pots, pans, and utensils you'd ever need. Furnished simply with a convertible couch, coffee table, desk and chair. Large bathroom includes a full size tub and shower.
Good news! In October 2014 I had the carpet deep cleaned so the apartment is now impeccably clean and the pet odor is gone!
More good news! In February 2015 I added a queen size bed. It is a brand new Simmons Beautyrest and is nice and firm. The futon is still here for guests.
There is a shared laundry room in the basement. The front porch is a relaxing sun filled area great for breakfast.
Interaction with Guests
Keys in lockbox out front (I'll provide the code). Apartment is cleaned after every rental. I'll give you your freedom, just give me a call if you have a problem (which you won't).
Location, location, location! You'll be in a quiet neighborhood conveniently located in the center of the city. Nearby Alamo Square, Golden Gate, and the Panhandle are all dog friendly and runner friendly.
The nearby booming Divisidero corridor hosts a plethora of of cafes, bars, restaurants including the brand new Buy Rite. The possibilities are endless!
There is free street parking easily available on my street. The only thing is that during the day, from 8 am to 6 pm, there is only 2 hour parking. So during the day you will have to move the car every 2 hours. Weekends are free parking all the time. It is the same throughout the city unless you happen to get lucky and rent an apartment with a parking space included.
The 21 bus line is not even a block away which will take you downtown to union square, fisherman's wharf, or ride it the other way out to the beach or world famous Haight street. If you have a car, there is ample street parking. Other buses include the 5, 21, 23, and my favorite the Geary Express 38. Walk to hear jazz in Fillmore, eat in Japantown, take in the symphony at Civic Center.
Other Things to Note
Please note that as pets are allowed this is not a good rental choice for those with pet allergies.
Pets allowed, no smoking, lock doors when leaving, no excessive noise, no parties. Treat the place like your own.
Place was great! small, but comfy. Process was easy, neighborhood is really gorgeous.
Thank you for the hospitality!
The reservation was canceled 18 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The place is as described. Well located, clean, and efficient. A wonderful studio for hanging out in SF. And at the price it can't be beat! The light in the morning is beautiful. And the place is close to my favorite coffee shop in SF, the Mill! Good enough reason to stay here!
Really nice place, close to the park and the city center by bus.
We had a great time in S.F and at Matt's place.
The only thing would be that the bed wasn't really comfortable, especially for two people, but it was said already so we were aware of it.
Will come back here next time !
Nice apartement and location. Matt was very helpful and answers all our questions very quickly.
The bedcouch is a little small but if you arent too big then you don't have any problems ;-)
But we would love to stay there again...thank you Matt
I just want everyone to know, because it has been mentioned in the last few reviews, that I'm having the carpet shampooed on October 15, 2014. I admit that it is stained, a drawback to hosting dogs, although I love hosting people and their pets. From now on I'm going to have the carpet shampooed on a regular basis.
We spent 4 nights in Matt's apartment in San Francisco.
The apartment is located in a great neighborhood with lots of good restaurants and bars around , it also felt very safe.
Matt (although we never met him) was very friendly and helpful over the phone.
As for the apartment itself, I think we should have done a better reading the description, no complaints for Matt here but keep in mind that (in our opinion) this apartment suits much better low budget travelers as it is very basic.
The apartment has a nice shower and kitchen however, it is a studio and there is no bed, so you will be sleeping on the sofa (which is a very uncomfortable one and definitely too small for a couple), the carpet was old and stained and the apartment smelled like dog odor, however after adjusting to the circumstances (I ended up sleeping on the floor and my wife on the sofa) we managed to enjoy our stay spending very little time in the apartment.
So once again, if you travel on budget and you are not used to nice pampered hotel rooms this can be a good one for you, however if you can afford it you might want to consider a better option.
