Murviel-les-Béziers is a quaint medieval village, in the Department of Hérault in the Languedoc Region of Southern France. Located between the sea and the mountains of Haut Languedoc, the elevated village of Murviel, overlooks the valleys and plains of the Orb river. Our medieval castle, Château of Murviel-les-Béziers, takes pride of place at the very top of the village, with magnificent views of the surrounding landscape. It was the ancestral home of the Lords of Murviel until 1806. It was acquired by Mr. Yves Cousquer in 2001, and is managed by Sinéad Deignan, who comes from the long tradition of Irish bed and breakfasts. The castle is medieval origin, but had a Renaissance facelift, that makes for a marvelous marriage of history. We have five beautiful ensuite bedrooms, all sporting unique individual features, four-poster cast iron beds, original stonework, high ceilings and splendid views. The castle, its grounds, it's walled inner garden, and terrace are strictly reserved to our clients, to ensure that their stay is peaceful, private and pleasant.
