The apartment is located at the first floor of a medieval building in the city center of Prato, the most lively side of the city.
Very closed at the most important historical and turistical site of the city, far from 200 mt to the train station Prato Porta al Serraglio, connected to the most important and beautiful cities of Tuscany (15min to Florence, 1hr to Pisa, 1.15 hr to the seaside).
It's the perfect solution to stay for a short or a long period in a spacious and colored apartment, closely to the magic of the tuscan life style and inside history; in the apartment you'll can see how the people lived in the past, like in a museum you can see an old kitchen and an old bathroom.
The apartment is completely furnished with kitchen, one double room, bathroom and a sofa bed, it's also included wi-fi connection, TV, hair-dryer and a washing machine.
Stayed at Alessia's during my two week study in Monash Prato! The place was so much better than the pictures and Alessia and her boyfriend were very helpful. Enjoyed our stay very much and would strongly recommend this place for further visits.
The sunflower apartment was lovely and very spacious, way larger than we expected. It was very clean when we arrived, and the basic dishes and silverware were available. There is also a washing machine and place to hang clothes to dry, which is very useful when travelling. The best feature is the location - just off the corner of the Piazza del Duomo right in the heart of Prato, with a big window that you could open to watch people come and go on the street below, and near to a small supermarket, many cafes and shops, and places of interest. Alessia was waiting for us when we arrived, and although we did not need extensive help in exploring Prato as we were visiting a relative who lives there, she gave us some good suggestions on places to eat, things to do, etc. The experience was entirely positive, and we would stay there again. We actually tried to extend our stay by a night, but alas the place was already booked - and Alessia tried to help us find another place, which was very nice of her. Overall, great place, reasonably priced - we moved to the hotel across the street for our last night (not the option Alessia had suggested), and it was nowhere near as nice.
Alessia's flat is truly lovely in Prato!!! We did not meet Alessia but we met her friend who was super kind and helpful to not only give us the keys but also to help us finding our way in New Years Eve when few roads were closed, so she kindly met us on the exit of the road to guide us until the flat.
We would definitely go back and stay there again! Even though there's no elevator on the building (which we were a little concerned when reading the profile) there's no issues at all as the flat is on the 1st floor and really little steps take you to the first floor.
Flat is really clean, well organized with a beautiful decoration! Plus it's much bigger than we expected with many facilities, we were touched by the fact that there was even good coffee and tea available for us. Thanks a lot!
I spent over three months in Alessia's sunflower apartment and had a fabulous time. It is ideally located in Prato's historic centre with everything you would need within walking distance. The apartment, which has been recently renovated, is furnished with the basics for your stay. There is enough cutlery and crockery for six people and the kitchen has a basic saucepan set, utensils and two baking dishes. While you can easily prepare simple meals in the kitchen it is not set up for anything complex - i.e. there's not much preparation space or equipment beyond the very basic. This is not necessarily problematic as there are good gastronomie in the near vicinity where you can buy already prepared food. The sofabed is quite comfortable and the main bedroom has a large double bed and wardrobe. There are also two small storage rooms which are very handy. The only caution I would sound is about noise. If you are a light sleeper or have trouble sleeping after being woken at night then you would have to consider carefully as there is quite a lot of noise both late into the night (due to the restaurant just below the apartment and the surrounding streets, including the Piazza Duomo during the warmer months) and early in the morning (when nearby businesses start to prepare for opening). Alessia is the perfect host and would really do anything for you. I would not hesitate to recommend this property (email hidden) to spend some time in Tuscany.
A true gem in Prato. It is as described, a sunny, clean and large apartment. Alessia (email hidden), friendly and a good communicator. Prato is the perfect place to stay if you want to be away from Florence which is 25 minutes by train.
Alessia (email hidden)e was easy to reach throughout our visit and responded immediately to any requests or questions. The apartment was perfect for our needs and the heat worked well. The location could not be better - it is literally in the Duomo Sq. and convenient to everything in Prato. There's even a train station at the end of the road. I will stay here again when I'm in Prato.
