This charming three room, one bedroom apt in the East Village has lots of the old New York charm and was painstakingly renovated in November 2012. There's plenty of sunlight, and windows with cross breezes, on a quiet tree lined street with a police precinct up the block. Added in the most recent renovation is a standing shower in the kitchen, a lovely sleeping loft, a king-size Tempurpedic mattress, 42" flat screen TV, and a European style cooking kitchen with a under-the-counter two drawer refrigerator.
The Apt. Includes:
- 3 separate rooms + water closet
- A KING-Sized Tempurpedic Bed!
- Sheets and towels are included.
- A sleeping loft, good for a tall adult or two small children.
- Free WiFi
- 42" HDTV w/ Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu Plus enabled (no cable).
- iMac computer to check emails.
- Air Conditioning
- iPod hook-up to stereo w/ speakers in every room.
- Amazing soaking tub in huge kitchen with shower.
- A separate water closet.
- 4th Fl walk-up

The neighborhood is the best for restaurants and nightlife. Outdoor cafes, international cuisine, bars and lounges all within a five block radius, and the the NY Times deemed "Best Coffee Shop" is right around the corner.
In addition there are two incredible parks just minutes away. The legendary Tompkins Square Park is two blocks West, and the newly renovated East River Park, with river views, running track and tennis courts is only 3 blocks East.
The apartment is 8 blocks away from 3 major subway lines (6,L, & F trains) and there is a 24 hour bus stop outside the building, which travels across town, connecting you with all of Manhattan's subway lines.
This is the New York you've been longing to experience!

We spent several pleasant days at Dave's place, before and during hurricane Sandy. The communication with Dave by phone messages and mail was excellent, but we didn't see him at all. The computer helped us to follow Sandy's track on The Weather Channel until the Edison power generators exploded and caused a massive power shortage. Pierre, who was a geographer specialized in tropical cyclones, took preventing actions (adhesive tapes on windows, dynamo lamp, candles, reserves of food and water).
This charming apartment located in a small building was safe during severe flooding, so we still could use gaz and tap water during power shortages. Ruben, the superintendant who maintains the building, did a tremendous job before, during, and after the storm to prevent damages and ensure the security of the people of the building. Ruben helped us a lot and is a super Super and a nice person. Thank you Ruben ! Dave has always answered quickly to our questions and we had no major problems during our stay, despite this devastating hurricane, because the apartment is located off the major flooding zone A, on the other side of Avenue D (where people still have no more water and power). Please check the conditions of your stay before coming to NYC (buses are working but most of subway and road tunnels are still flooded for weeks, and there was still no power for several days when we left on oct. 31th). Thank you Dave and Ruben for your support !
Dave was super, awesome, fantastico! Seriously, he is super responsive with all the emails and texts, and inviting. He texts to see if everything is ok. The place is clean and cozy with lots of character. The location is great, with a short walk to the subway. There are a ton of amazing restaurants and cool things to do in the east village. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone.
Spent one week in Dave's apartment. Were provided the keys by the cleaning lady and had Dave over the phone who made sure everything was OK. Cosy small apartment with a design touch in Alphabet city nearby lively East village, 12 min walk to metro station, 1 min walk to a bus stop. A good value for the price in a nice neighborhood.
Had a great stay in Dave's place - like the east village and lovely to have good coffee, restaurants and bars a block away. Very clean and easy place to stay in. We liked coming back to this area after the frenetic traffic and sounds of the rest of Manhattan. All access was straightforward and helpful information was left by Dave.
Dave's place was great. Very roomy & walking distance to so many great shops and restaurants. The place was clean & charming.
daves place was great! funky, clean, well appointed, close to the action of east village and a short walk to the subway. dave was a great host and we felt very safe and comfortable in his (website hidden) we especially liked the embroidered pillow :)
Aprtment was great, very clean, better than a hotel, every need taken care of, however location is too far away so you will need to cab everywhere, I would definately not walk about after dark.
Good location close to everything you need in the East Village. Cosy place with good aircon if you are there in summer.
Dave's apartment was a kick! The super met and welcomed us and was extremely kind and helpful. The apartment was clean and well appointed. Not having a shower (or shower curtain) was challenging but hilarious--we all have pictures of each of us washing our hair. The toilet had the potential of being a little persnickety, but we had no problems. There were many excellent restaurants in the neighborhood from which to choose: Paprika, Fonda, and Cafe Mogador were my favorites.
We had a wonderful stay at Dave´s apartment. He kept in continuos touch with us, always willing to know how we were doing. He is a great person! The flat is very nice and cosy, with awesome decorative touchs; just like the pictures show it, with no surprises. The bath was fun, and the four stories were not that hard. Air conditioning worked fine. The neighbourhood - as well as the neighbours - is very silent, and we found this very convenient in comparison to another NY´s neighbourhoods. Thank you very much Dave!!!!!!!
