The Space

Clean & cozy Pacific Beach studio apartment-the perfect place to spend your beachy San Diego vacation! Ridiculously close to Crystal Pier, the beaches & only 1/2 block from the restaurants, grocery stores, public transportation and bars.
Brand new bed sleeps 2, full kitchen, bath, wifi, & courtyard.

Great amenities here, and quaint with oddball charm. Fast wifi, coffee, teas, and a full kitchen with everything you need to make a gourmet meal. Fresh, clean sheets and towels.
There is fancy cable with all the fixins, Apple TV and dvd player. Air conditioning, heater and ceiling fan for your comfort. Plenty of plugs and a wall mounted usb outlet.
We are young, love to travel and appreciate the funk. This studio reflects it with a few eclectic goodies and a really cozy vintage love seat & chair.
The love seat could easily sleep a small child and the cowhide floor is sleeping-bag ready for an extra friend :) No dining room, but plenty of trays for eating as well as a spacious courtyard with picnic table, umbrella & barbecue.

Friendly neighbors, yummy restaurants, bars, ice cream shop, bus stop and Starbucks just steps away! Grocery stores, banks, liquor stores, 7-11, and the beach just a few more blocks.
The bay is super close and there is usually easy parking. Pacific Beach is central and about 15 minutes drive to plenty of sites: The Zoo, Both Stadiums, The Gaslamp, Ocean Beach, Sea World, La Jolla, etc.

Jack will meet you upon arrival, hand you the keys and say hello. He works very close in case you need anything, but won't be bothering you during your stay.

  • This apartment was very nice. It's true it's small, and I wouldn't recommend staying here if you don't like your companion. 2 suitcases on the floor proved a little tough. But it's a great spot in PB, near restaurants and the beach (under a mile walk). We recommend Oscar's (Jen and Jack's recommendation), Taco Surf, and PB Bar and Grille (which they actually recommended against, but we liked it). You can get super cheap avocados from Sprouts Co-op just a few blocks away. The apartment shares a little yard with neighbors, most of whom are very friendly and considerate, and the rest of whom will just grunt at you as they walk past.

Jack and Jen were great hosts-- Jack recommended Lyft and Uber to get around and we ended up getting 5 or 6 free rides around town. *Next person*: don't forget to ask Jack to refer you-- we wish we'd done this (he'll get some free credit, too!). Jack and Jen live around the corner. We weren't quite clear if they owned the apartment and rented it out often (likely), or used it themselves sometimes (less likely?). The apartment was quite clean, though don't expect brand new furniture. It sort of felt like someone was living there, had left for a while, but cleaned and tidied just prior to leaving. There is great wifi and a million TV channels for a rainy day.

  • This place is funky fresh! It may be tiny, but Jack and Jen pack plenty of character into this space and it more than suited our needs. You could spend a good chunk of time just perusing the art they have displayed throughout the flat.

Jack met us upon our arrival and gave us a quick rundown of the place and the area. We didn't get a chance to scope out the 'hood, but it seems to be within walking distance of a smattering of food + fun and, of course, the beach. Besides the art, you will also quickly notice how technologically equipped this place is. There are chargers for Apple products and a fancy TV. Who doesn't love falling asleep to an episode of Mythbusters? The bathroom and kitchen are also well stocked and so organized, although one word of warning: no toiletries so remember to pack your own!

My only regret is how little time we got to spend here. We were in the area for just one night for a wedding; we basically checked in, dashed out the door, rolled home in the wee hours of the night, and left first thing in the morning. Drats! But I would love to return and explore the area, especially the Mr. Frostie!

  • Definitely a cozy spot - studio was small but we spent the majority of our time on Garnet and on the beach. Everything available worked well and they even had some "Freebies" for the local corner store - nice touch. Jack and Jen are great and communication was easy. Would definitely stay again!

  • A great flat located in a trendy, young part of town. We also enjoyed the short walk to the beach, and the plethora of spots for great drinks and food. Jen & Jack even supplied complimentary ice cream (delicious!) at the tasty snack shop on the corner! Thanks for the memorable stay in SD, we'll give you a shout when back in town!

  • We had a great time in La Jolla at Jack and Jen's place. It was the perfect little spot for us to relax and take in some of the scene in Pacific Beach. Thanks guys for the wonderful stay!

  • Jack and Jen were great hosts. Check in and check out was a breeze. Their darling little place suited our needs perfectly. The location was great. Close to all the fun bars, yet just off the main drag so it wasn't loud at night. I would definitely stay here again. Great value for the price.

  • My mom and I stayed at Jack and Jen's new flat (not pictured above, but similar and in the same complex). It was absolutely adorable and I hope to stay there again. I didn't have a chance to meet Jen, but Jack was available for questions, allowed us to check in an hour early, check out an hour late and even gave us gift certificates to the ice cream shop on the corner. The layout of the flat was spacious even though it was a studio. The bed was really comfy, as well! We both slept like babies. The kitchen was a really decent size and had enough space for my mom and I to prepare things at the same time. The entire place was well equipped with the essentials and then some! I really enjoyed the record player! It gave the place a nice retro feel while still being modern and sleek. Overall, it was a really cute place to stay! We had our privacy, it was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. I highly recommend staying at Jack and Jen's new flat.
