The cottage has one large bedroom, a cosy sitting room, covered verandah, a fully equipped kitchen and small bathroom. A gas heater and slow combustion stove are available to keep you warm.
For entertainment there is a TV and stereo, there are also many books and games to while away a wet afternoon.
Sleeping arrangements. As mentioned above, there is a king size bed in the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the sitting room. We prepare the bed for you with clean sheets, blankets and towels. If you intend to use the sofa bed as well, please advise us so we can leave out extra sheets and blankets for you. We don't make up the sofa bed.

Azure Hills Cottage is tucked away at the back of our bush garden nestled into lovely bush surroundings. You have a separate access to the cottage via our side lane. No one overlooks the cottage, you are private and able to relax and unwind.
As our guests you have access to Azure Hills Cottage and its garden and you may use the laundry on request for no fee. We love our pets and our chook (chicken) and can make your pets welcome on request.
Interaction with Guests
I'll 'meet and greet' you on your arrival, show you around and am happy to chat and tell you about the delights of the area. We live in the house at the front of the property and we can be contacted there during your stay.
We leave you alone to enjoy your break away from home. If you have a problem you can pop down to the house and knock on the kitchen door.
The sounds of the bush, singing birds, kookaburras, summer cicadas make our area special. You are close to our local village shopping centre which has a good cafe, post office, and all the other shops you need during your stay. Bush walks and mountain biking are just at the end of our street. There is an Olympic sized public swimming pool in Lawson, one village away.
Hazelbrook train station is a 10 minute walk away, trains travel into Sydney (only an hour and a half away) or further up the mountains to the other villages and attractions such as the Three Sisters at Katoomba. If your driving, we are easily reached via the Great Western Highway and the parking is at the front of the house.
Other Things to Note
We prefer a two day booking on weekends, but are happy for single night stays between Monday - Thursday. Just ask me and I will send you a special reservation.
If you don't want to cook then there are good takeaways (take outs) at the Hazo (Hazelbrook) village shops, pizza, chicken, hamburgers, fish and chips and a nice Thai restaurant. The Thai and pizza place home deliver. Lawson pub is only a 10 minute drive away and they do great evening meals.
As the cottage is in our garden and therefore is a part of our home, we invite you to have a lovely time, but request that you are quiet and peaceful and enjoy the bush surroundings.
We are happy to welcome your pets, we have three dogs, a cat and a chook.
We really enjoyed our stay at Azure Hills. The cottage was cozy and the wood burner & board games much appreciated! Recommended!
Lovely host, I felt comfortable and the listing is exactly how I expected - great x
Lorna was excellent at responding and assisting us with an early check in! The cottage is lovely, set in a leafy spot very close to the Terrace Falls and many of the bush walks throughout the Blue Mountains. The resident puppies got on with our furry friends famously, and it was great to have a secure garden! Thank you Lorna (and Julie) for making our stay in your backyard cottage so relaxing!
Lorna was friendly and helpful during our stay. The cottage was as clean and comfortable.
Lorna is a most welcoming and helpful host. The little house at the end of the garden is exactly as described - private, spacious, warm and comfortable with enough reading material for a year or two! The warmth was important as we arrived with an outside temperature of about 10 degrees, despite it being middle of January. It was also raining hard and that made moving in a rather wet experience, but after 24 hours, the sun came out as we visited the Three Sisters and from then on it was great weather.
Just up the road is a café with very nice coffee, just opening up and advertising take away meals from February. Another five minutes walk takes you over the railway to a small shopping centre with all you could need.
Our Garmin Satnav was not very helpful, due to recent changes in the road layout. The important thing to do is turn off the Highway to the south (away from the shopping centre), at the traffic lights where it says Hazelbrook. Then the Satnav will get you there, but the end of Hazelbrook Falls Road at Railway Parade is difficult to see, being just before Addington Rd as you come up the hill.
Ruth enjoyed her early morning runs on the local roads, except it was mostly uphill coming back!
We also were served very well in the pub in Lawson - the meal on the first night was so good we went back for a second try on the second night and it was just as good. Also great that you can get there on the back road, rather than using the Highway.
Thanks Lorna for a great stay.
We had a wonderful time in the Blue Mountains and stay with Lorna in the little cottage in the garden. It was a cosy and colorful house and we liked it. Everything we need was there, and Lorna was very friendly to us. Because the back yard has trees we had enough privacy.
