About this listing
Remodeled apartment in Palo Alto with private entranceAbout 2 blocks from Stanford campus, and in close proximity to Town & Country, California Ave, University Ave, and in between the University Ave and California Ave Caltrans stations. Newly painted and exceptionally clean.
Fully furnished bedroom with king sized bed and spacious closets. Roomy bathroom with shower and full vanity. "Trader Joe's" kitchenette with large microwave, coffee and tea pot with large selection of teas, toaster, and full sized refrigerator. Originally was used by Stanford medical students who never cooked as the cafeteria is open 24/7/365, so appliances for cooking take the place of a stove.
Outdoor chairs available for sitting on the patio enjoying the sun or gazing at the stars.
Interaction with Guests
Host lives next door and is available for questions and conversation during your stay.
The neighborhood is on the "fun" end of Stanford University because if you are visiting to see a sporting event you cannot get closer. Within a 5 minute walk you will be on the Rugby, Lacrosse and Soccer fields, a little further and you are on the Sunken Diamond for baseball or across for Women's Softball, next you will be near the football stadium, Angel Field and tennis courts and finally you will be close to Maples Pavilion where volleyball and basketball is played. All this right across the street from my suite.
Yes, there is both the Palo Alto free shuttle and Margaret shuttle that Stanford University runs as well as bus service along El Camino Real. At the University Ave. train station(within a easy walk) we have a new bike rental service run by the city.
The suite is a tobbaco free space so if you do smoke please go outside on the sidewalk. The tobacco free also includes chewing tobacco and the e-vapor devices and any other things that utilizes nicotine. Quiet is the best way to describe the place so if we could please keep it that way I would appreciate it.
This 1-BR apartment is attached to Sid's house but is completely private. The separate, locked entrance is located off the side patio (door pictured) and I was able to come and go throughout the week without bothering Sid. In fact I didn't even meet him until the morning I was leaving, though he was available to me via text or phone if I ever needed anything from the moment I arrived. He's a wonderful host and a nice man who really cares that you have a good experience. All of the photos and listed description of the apartment are accurate. There is a comfortable king sized bed in the bedroom with nice linens and a large closet for hanging clothes; the bathroom is clean and well stocked with soaps, shampoo, lotion and a hair dryer so you don't need to bring all that if you don't want to; and the kitchenette is stocked with cold drinks (water, ice tea, juice) and coffee and packaged goods for your use until you can get your own groceries, if you care to eat in. The lovely residential neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, and only a short stroll to stores, restaurants, and the Stanford campus. On-street parking was no problem. I couldn't have asked for a better situation for my one week stay in Palo Alto. I would definitely stay at Sid's again if his place is available next time I visit.
I had a lovely time at Sid's apartment. Sid was very friendly and welcoming, and the place itself is spacious, immaculate and very well equipped.
We had a wonderful experience staying at Sid’s apartment. The apartment is very clean, charming, and more spacious in person than in the pictures. We also loved sitting outside on the patio surrounded by mandarin, lime, and avocado trees (very exotic for us visiting Midwesterners!). As other reviewers have mentioned, Sid has the apartment stocked with all the supplies you could possibly need, as well as a very nice assortment of drinks and snacks. Sid stopped by several times to make sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed visiting with him, and he kindly gave us some helpful suggestions for nearby day trips and restaurants. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood that is convenient walking distance from the Stanford campus, and shopping and restaurants are also located nearby. We highly recommend Sid and his apartment!
Sid is gracious and kind - a wonderful human being. The place is excellent and just as advertised: private, comfortable, clean and well stocked. The garden is lovely, too. I enjoyed a nice long walk in the neighborhood each morning. It's a great location with easy accessibility to Stanford and downtown Palo Alto.
Sid was very welcoming! I had a great first-time airbnb stay. The apartment was everything I was looking for. Lots of privacy, safe neighborhood, good location, clean, comfortable bed and pillows, etc. The pictures posted are accurate, however the place is even more spacious than I thought it would be. The fully stocked fridge and pantry came in handy when I needed to be on the go!
Sid's apartment is very conveniently located in the charming Palo Alto neighborhood, within a walking distance from/to Stanford campus. Trader Joe's etc. Was also tidy and functionally equipped. Sid's great hospitality made me feel back in home. I would definitely love to come back.
Sid is a super friendly host and we actually checked in late for our night and he is very patient to wait for us. His place is very cosy and comfortable. He has a well stocked pantry and fridge available. Location is convenient with 10 mins drive to town center for food and grocery. Will be glad to be back for another stay :)
