Description

The space

Fully furnished bedroom with king sized bed and spacious closets. Roomy bathroom with shower and full vanity. "Trader Joe's" kitchenette with large microwave, coffee and tea pot with large selection of teas, toaster, and full sized refrigerator. Originally was used by Stanford medical students who never cooked as the cafeteria is open 24/7/365, so appliances for cooking take the place of a stove.

Guest access

Outdoor chairs available for sitting on the patio enjoying the sun or gazing at the stars.

Interaction with guests

Host lives next door and is available for questions and conversation during your stay.

The neighborhood

The neighborhood is on the "fun" end of Stanford University because if you are visiting to see a sporting event you cannot get closer. Within a 5 minute walk you will be on the Rugby, Lacrosse and Soccer fields, a little further and you are on the Sunken Diamond for baseball or across for Women's Softball, next you will be near the football stadium, Angel Field and tennis courts and finally you will be close to Maples Pavilion where volleyball and basketball is played. All this right across the street from my suite.

Getting around

Yes, there is both the Palo Alto free shuttle and Margaret shuttle that Stanford University runs as well as bus service along El Camino Real. At the University Ave. train station(within a easy walk) we have a new bike rental service run by the city.

Other things to note

Please, no open fires in the apartment like candles, sterno, etc. The smoke alarm is very sensitive and will activate.

Sid is a great host - he's very accessible, and responds promptly. Nice clean, comfortable, quiet, well-lit apartment. Nice patio to sit outside and read the newspaper. Nice hot shower. We were very pleased! Sid's attention to detail made us feel right at home! (plenty of electrical outlets, pantry stocked with food and fresh fruit, fridge with juices). All around Excellent!!! We would definitely stay here again! Sid's place is ideally located within walking distance to Stanford campus and Town and Country Mall. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Excellent apartment, with all the amenities of home -- lots of natural lighting.

Sid is a welcoming host and a good communicator who makes staying at his place hassle-free. He stocks his private apartment with plenty of amenities to make his guests feel at home. Wonderful location, easy walk to Stanford campus and shops/restaurants in Palo Alto. This was my second stay and I would definitely stay here again.

Sid's home is in a wonderful location, a beautiful residential neighbourhood situated perfectly between Stanford, Downtown Palo Alto, and Old Palo Alto. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go, whether to the grocery store or great dining options at the nearby outdoor mall, to our meetings on Campus, or into downtown Palo Alto for lunch, dinner, and exploration. There are shortcuts and walking paths everywhere that are revealed if you route your walks using a maps app or online map. Having a kitchen and fridge was great to make breakfast and dinners on nights when we just wanted to stay in. Water pressure was great, water was hot, plenty of towels, and extra blankets if needed. Windows all easily open, which is great for getting fresh air. The property is lovely with flowers and planets everywhere, oranges growing on the tree out of the window. Sid is an excellent, kind, and friendly host!

Wonderful place, convenient location, huge bed, wonderful shower, and wifi. Stocked with everything I could have needed, from toothbrush (forgot mine) to coffee and tea selections.
