Remodeled apartment in Palo Alto with private entrance. About 2 blocks from Stanford campus, and in close proximity to Town & Country, California Ave, University Ave, and in between the University Ave and California Ave Caltrans stations. Newly painted and exceptionally clean.
Fully furnished bedroom with king sized bed and spacious closets. Roomy bathroom with shower and full vanity. "Trader Joe's" kitchenette with large microwave, coffee and tea pot with large selection of teas, toaster, and full sized refrigerator. Originally was used by Stanford medical students who never cooked as the cafeteria is open 24/7/365, so appliances for cooking take the place of a stove.
Outdoor chairs available for sitting on the patio enjoying the sun or gazing at the stars.
Interaction with Guests
Host lives next door and is available for questions and conversation during your stay.
The neighborhood is on the "fun" end of Stanford University because if you are visiting to see a sporting event you cannot get closer. Within a 5 minute walk you will be on the Rugby, Lacrosse and Soccer fields, a little further and you are on the Sunken Diamond for baseball or across for Women's Softball, next you will be near the football stadium, Angel Field and tennis courts and finally you will be close to Maples Pavilion where volleyball and basketball is played. All this right across the street from my suite.
Yes, there is both the Palo Alto free shuttle and Margaret shuttle that Stanford University runs as well as bus service along El Camino Real. At the University Ave. train station(within a easy walk) we have a new bike rental service run by the city.
The suite is a tobbaco free space so if you do smoke please go outside on the sidewalk. The tobacco free also includes chewing tobacco and the e-vapor devices and any other things that utilizes nicotine. Quiet is the best way to describe the place so if we could please keep it that way I would appreciate it.
Sid is a thoughtful host. His apartment was clean, cozy and in an especially beautiful neighborhood. He was very accommodating about my changing arrival time (flight delays). He had everything on hand for making coffee, or tea and lots of little extras in the way of bath products. I had a great night's rest. Would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful location and home. Very comfortable and convenient. Sid is an excellent host.
Second time I have stayed with Sid. He will always be my first choice in Palo Alto. Great place; great host!
We enjoyed our stay at Sid's place. It was perfect for our stay. It was a 30 minute walk to Stanford University and the restaurants in Palo Alto. The bed was very comfortable so we got a good nights sleep. I enjoyed sitting in the yard reading in the sun. Sid is a great host, very friendly and attentive. And I took advantage of Sid's great tasting tangerines in the yard.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sid's place in Palo Alto. It is super convenient, with Stanford across the street and Town & Country Village a block away. The room was clean and comfortable, and access was easy with the separate entrance. Sid has done a nice job of creating a place where you can stay awhile and settle in if necessary.
There is an issue with an odor that is 'ammonia-like' which you should be aware of. This smell is like pet urine and seems not to come from within the apartment, but perhaps through the heating system. Sid provided some Fabreeze to help with this, but I think it is a more significant issue. So be aware.
Sid himself was very gracious and friendly. I really, really enjoyed talking with him briefly. An awesome place to stay, in particular if the odor issue can be resolved.
John, This is my third year on Airbnb and you are the first person to ever raise an odor issue, and to warn others to be aware is just plain not fair. If you will re-read my message to you, I left the Frebreze not to use but to check if that was what you were smelling as my cleaning person was just in the apartment before you arrived and as usual she sprayed the Frebreze. As I did not hear back from you at all, I assumed the problem had been solved. So this feedback has caught me off guard and as we call it in football lingo a "late hit". The cat litter boxes are located near a outside area which is ventilated and far away from the rest of the house, so my hunch is as I mentioned the Frebreze and so the only action I can take is to not use that product during cleaning the room. I hope you can stay with me again in the future without the Frebreze and notice the difference.
Sid was an excellent host, very wellcoming. The apartment is very nice and confortable and we enjoyed our stay. It is also perfectly located in Palo Alto, nothing is far and it was possible to do everything biking. Sid was always very responsive and helpful when we had a problem.
Sid was a very hospitable host. The apartment was in good condition. He made sure to give proper directions to and description of the property. I would go back again.
I have lived in Palo Alto since 1972 when my wife and I moved down from San Francisco when she was accepted to Stanford Medical School. I am Director of Fitness at a facility on Stanford University property as well as a personal trainer and yoga instructor.
