Diane's cozy home is centrally located in a really great neighborhood and San Diego if you rent a car there's plenty of parking on the street and its easy access to any major highway to get you to any part of San Diego if you like public transportation she is right around the corner from the number 2 bus that takes you all the way downtown to the happening spot of gas lamp or if you'd like to check out UBER, I strongly recommend it. don't try to park in the downtown shopping district, take a UBER for less than 10 bucks and a local driver will not only give you a nice safe ride but give you some great tips on where to check out cool things.
private room, shared bathroom, kitchen.
South Park is a neighborhood in San Diego, California located east of Balboa Park, and borne out of its southern neighbor Golden Hill. "South Park" is also north of Grant Hill and south of North Park, the boundary being Juniper Street. South Park is a distinct neighborhood that also includes the Burlingame historic district
There has been an ongoing controversy over whether or not South Park has historic significance insofar as its recognition as its own neighborhood independent from Golden Hill. Long time Golden Hill resident, community activist and owner/proprietor of the Big Kitchen restaurant, Judy Forman, known locally as "Judy the Beauty" calls her community Golden Hill. According to her “South Park is a name Republican real-estate people want. They want to be detached from Golden Hill because Golden Hill has an [image problem].” The modern boundaries of South Park include the historic neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, which is not often discussed, one rare relic of it being the extant Brooklyn Heights Presbyterian Church.
Serious development in the South Park neighborhood started around 1905 with the extension of streetcar service by the Bartlett Webster developing company. In the 1910s, Golden Hill and the area now referred to as South Park became one of the many San Diego neighborhoods connected by the Class 1 streetcars and an extensive San Diego public transit system that was spurred by the Panama-California Exposition of 1915 and built by John D. Spreckels. These streetcars became a fixture of this neighborhood until their retirement in 1939.[unreliable source?]
South Park is now considered one of the major historic urban communities of San Diego and has long been proposed as a registered historic district. Other historically significant neighborhoods not far from South Park include Golden Hill and Sherman Heights.

I had an amazing time staying with Diane in her lovely home in South Park. Diane is a kind and welcoming woman, she was always quick to offer suggestions and recommendations, and also knew when to give you space. Her and her grand daughter (who was there for a few nights) were so sweet and made me feel so comfortable.
About the Room - The room itself is fairly small, but you have enough space to store your things and get ready. The room includes a small fan so between that and sleeping with the window open the room was always the perfect temperature. There is an outlet right by the bed to charge your phone and a small lamp for reading. The room is right across from the shared bathroom which is nice. Ditto to all previous comments about the shower's excellent water pressure.
About the Neighborhood - I can't say enough great things about the neighborhood of South Park. For starters it's very convenient because less than a minute walk from the house there's a laundromat, a 7-11, a seafood food truck, and the amazing Captain Kirk's Coffee. Do yourself a favor and get an acai bowl for breakfast. Delicious! A couple minutes in either direction you have your pick of great bars, restaurants, and shopping. I didn't get to try every place during my stay, but I definitely recommend Eclipse Chocolate Bar for brunch, Station Tavern for dinner, Rebecca's for breakfast (try a homemade scone!), Daily Scoop on Juniper for Ice Cream, and the Whistle Stop Bar for drinks. Another plus is there are two bus stops about three blocks away that will take you downtown in about 20 minutes. It's close to the airport as well, it was only a $10 ride during non-rush hour through Uber. The neighborhood is just wonderful. It's safe to walk at night and they have lots of community events (they had the four-times annual Walkabout while I was there) and they are very dog-friendly.
Diane was a wonderful host and the neighborhood was spectacular. You can't get a better deal than this in my opinion :)
Staying with Diane was great! She is super friendly and made me feel at home. I stayed for 3 days. I was visiting my boyfriend. This was my first time using airbnb and I'm super happy I chose Diane's place. She lives in the most convieniet area in San Diego. Everywhere my boyfriend and I wanted to go it was only a 5-10 min drive. I'd highly recommend. Also, it's super friendly and safe to go have breakfast or shop or even go to a bar. It's in walking distance!!
My private room was so cozy. I loved waking up in the morning and seeing the light come in from the window. Overall it was a very great experience. I would definitely stay with Diane again. Thank you Diane!!!!
It was so nice to stay in Dianes Apartement. I really recommend to stay there, she is such a friendly person.
Diane was very warm, welcoming and hospitable. The apartment was comfortable and in a great location. It is within walking distance of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. It is just outside of Balboa Park, a quick 10 minute drive to downtown. My stay was very short but good. Thanks Diane.
Diane's apartment was spacious, comfortable, clean and in a great location. It is within walking distance of tons of cute bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting San Diego.
Diane was a wonderful host and very understanding when we couldn't make it on time. She made sure from the very beginning that we felt comfortable at hers and had great tips on what to do and see in San Diego. Thanks to her we had a wonderful time!
