  • Overall it was another good airbnb experience for us - location turned out to be good though the tight alley seemed scary at first. It was some 15 mins walk from the bus station and we had to use a porter ( 20 euro each way) to help us with our bags and the notorious bridges. The facilities were sufficient with the washer/dryer being of great use. As with all others, we never got to meet Cristiano but his "father" (Mario) and "mom" well made up for the excellent hosting duties. Communicating was a bit challenging but we eventually managed.

  • Nice clean, quiet apartment very close to train station and easy walking distance to San Marco. It was very easy to find the apartment. The kitchen was well appointed and spacious as was the bedroom, no problem with the mattress. Good WiFi. We never met Cristiano but his father and mother were very kind and helpful, virtually no English but we had no trouble communicating. The bathroom was functional, hot water no problem but it was a bit cramped especially around the toilet. It's at ground level and I can understand why some reviewers complained about dampness, this is after all Venice however we did not find this to be a problem. We would certainly stay there again.

  • A nice, cozy apartment. Easy walk from the train station (even with luggage and children), but also in a nice quite location, close to lots of shops.
The apartment was warm and had everything we needed for a short stay. Good value for money for the location.

  • Our stay at Cristiano's apartment was great.

    Pros:
-Good location: 5' from train station and maybe 15'-20' from san Marco, which was great for us. Venice is entirely walkable.
    Supermarket around the corner.
    -complete kitchen with many utensils.
    -washing/drying machine, which we used.
-everything was very clean and tidy.
    -Hot shower.

    Cons:
-slightly cold in winter. Altough, we could sleep well and could use an electric heater for showering.
-there's very limited space for the toilet, between the washer and the wall. Not so comfortable.

Overall It's a very good option at a low price for venice, would stay here again.

  • It was a good stay for me. It is in the middle of a small alley so it's nice and quiet.

  • We were happy with our stay at Crisitano's place. We liked that it was away from the main street so it was quiet and a nice break from the busy streets of Venice. The washer/dryer was an added bonus that we definitely utilized. Great value for the money compared to the cost of hotels in Venice.

  • The apartment is in a great location, right in the heart of Venice. We arrived early and Cristiano, though not able to come meet us ourselves, did arrange for his father to come meet us so we can drop off our luggages at his place first. That's really helpful! The apartment was clean, tidy and comfortable. The double bed was comfortable even though the single pull-out bed was a bit soft. However, if we were to come back to Venice, we would certainly love to stay at this cozy apartment again. Thanks Cristiano!

  • We loved our stay in this charming flat in Venice. We were met promptly at the appointed time and place by Christiano's mother and shown to the flat. Although she had limited english she was very friendly and managed to explain what she needed to. The flat is very well furnished and is in a great position to return to after sightseeing all day.

  • Pro's
Good location with access to small supermarket at end of lane and larger supermarket circa 5 minutes away.
Access to railway station 10 minutes walk away with closest Vaporetto station 2 minutes walk away
Stove, internet connection and clothes washing machine work well. We did however not use the dryer and rigged our own clothes line.
Bedding was well used but clean.
Despite concerns about the meet and greet system at Campiello dell'Anconeta before hand, the process worked well overall as we had well defined route maps sourced from the internet.
    Con's
Limited natural lighting meant we had to rely onlights at all times.
Ventilation was limited and the apartment bordering on too hot for us in what was a cool time of the year when you had to wear a light jacket when outside.
Mattress borderline for those with back problems like myself.
Limited space for clothes storage meant that it was more like camping as you had to live out of your suitcase/bag.
The range of cooking equipment was limited and condition varied with missing insulated handles on some.
Crockery range adequate but limited and some with chips and old cracks.
Cleanliness of cooking equipment, crockery and fridge could be improved.
Host contact ability before hand was a problem.
Host not seen for 5 days on site.
For those with limited fluency in Italian communication with host representatives a challenge.
    Other
    19 inch TV not used.
