I am primarily renting as a share, you in the bedroom, me on the couch. If you're solo and want the couch it would be $60 per night.
I offer to rent the apartment as an entire space, to couples. I also rent as a share when I have to work, ideally just one person - only one bathroom.
This is a one bedroom in a prewar building, with an elevator. Everything, including kitchen has been recently remodeled. It's one of the cleanest apartment buildings in NYC!!
Close to E,F express trains, 15 min to the heart of Manhattan. % blocks to the Roosevelt stop. 7 M, & R also stop there. 24 hour convenience stores, grocery and coffee shops around the corner.
My street is very quiet, and around the corner, lots of Asian, Hispanic and traditional cafes.
Some of the best and cheapest shopping in NYC, and amazing restaurants.
The Guest or guests have access to the whole apartment. Laundry in the basement or next door.
Interaction with Guests
I usually meet the guests to give keys and instructions and pick up keys, visit 1-2 during the stay. If it's a share with me then I am often there in the am and work from home 1-2 days per week, while the guests are out on the town.
My neighborhood has some great restaurants close by - Italian, Thai, Indian and Latino. There are some local places to listen to great music. Espresso 77 and LaTerazza 7.
The E, and F trains are express into the city so Manhattan is just minutes away. Take the E train to Ballys on 50th for a workout and a swim. R, M and 7 also just blocks away.
Other Things to Note
There is the Louis Armstrong museum in Queens, Mets baseball and lots of fun things to do.
Key exchange is VITAL. $50-150 for lost keys or late pick up/drop off, as I have to hire someone, and it interferes with my travel plans.
Please no loud or late nights as this is a quiet residential building. Smoking only outside.
Please remove shoes when inside.
Please leave the apartment as you found it, clean and laundry in the hamper by the bathroom. dishes in the dishwasher
My parents stayed here for two weeks, they loved it, really convenient to everything, it's a very cosy apartment, they would stay here again if they come back to New York.
Shelley was a very considerate host. The apartment is comfortable and very convenient to the street, and at the same time very quiet. The neighborhood is nice for walking, shopping and dining out.
The reservation was canceled 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had good days there, the neighborhood was nice and quiet and good supermarkets and stores around the apartment for shopping. We will use Shelley apartment again next year if it is available.
Just finished my stay at Shelley's apartment. It was a really good stay. The place is small, but perfect for one or two people. Shelley is true in her description that the apartment is comfortable, and cozy. The real draw here is the location. Near good restaurants, by the 74th street subway station (the best in all of Queens if you ask me), only 11 minutes from midtown Manhattan, and about 20 minutes from Times Square. You really can't beat it.
The other draw is Shelley herself. A woman who is flexible about checkin/out times, and a nice person.
Overall I was pleased with my stay, and would be happy to stay at her place again. Thanks for everything!!
Shelley was an excellent host! Warmly welcomed us late in the evening, very supportive all the time.
Excellent location, very close to a main metro station (Roosevelt) in 30'-40' to Downtown Manhattan.
Nice neighborhood, many restaurants, shops (24/7 as well), market in minutes walking.

Love to tango, Perfect for the tango traveler. I've been to Buenos Aires, worked in Santorini, set up a workshop there. Want to dance around the world - peace is not the absence of war but creativity, people doing what they love, visiting people they love and seeing the world with new
