The Space

A 17th Century timbered converted barn, perfect for either starting or finishing your holiday from Gatwick. The house is situated only 1 mile from Gatwick Airport and 5 miles from Reigate, and yet it overlooks fields and open country.

The accommodation is a twin bedded room with adjacent private shower room, TV, wardrobe, chest of drawers, hair dryer, gas central heating, tea & coffee making facilities and ample parking. We are also more than happy to collect and pick up from or drop off at Gatwick Airport for flights and trains at almost anytime of early morning, day or evening and this is included in the price. Taxis are plentiful but charge £12.00 from airport to our house!

If you wish to leave your car here whilst you are away, then we charge an additional £30.00 per week per vehicle.

The house has WiFi and we will provide the code upon arrival. A full English brealfast can be provided if your departure is after 9am otherwise a toast & cereal or picnic breakfast is available and all of these are included in the price.
.
The twin room is on the 1st floor, off its own landing, giving additional privacy.

The Black Horse Public House is some 200 yards along the road and offers good pub food and a good range of traditional ales. However we can now provide a 2 course evening meal for £15.00 a head as an extra, if required.

If you are travelling here by train, Gatwick is probably the most convenient station but Redhill is only 15 minutes drive away. Buses however are not a really viable option, particularly if you have luggage.

The area comprises many pretty Surrey villages, with charming pubs and churches and the towns of Dorking (11 miles) and Reigate (5 miles) offer a good range of shops.

A delightful & attractive English country house, we would be very happy to welcome you here.

It is very peaceful, rural and yet only 1 mile from Gatwick Airport. It is a very barn converted into a house in 1948. It is full of beams and character and out whole family love it.

  • Excellent overnight stay for my flight to Gatwick the next morning. Good communication via email and directions to the house which is easy to find. Clean and comfortable room with nice soft bed. Tasty evening meal chatting with Richard and Lissey. Next morning chose the continental breakfast and Richard dropped me at Gatwick for my flight. Perfect - 5 minutes from Gatwick but no plane noise!

  • Our short stay with a Richard and Lissey was great and we would definitely repeat it if the need arose. Richard kindly met us at Gatwick and took us back to their warm and very comfortable house where we had tea and homemade brownies. After a good nights sleep we had a very early start and Richard took us back to the airport with a lovely travel breakfast Lissey had prepared. The perfect start to our holiday!

  • We had a lovely stay with Richard and Lissey. We had a warm welcome despite the time as we had travelled after finishing work to get to their place.
The room was more than we expected and the beds and bedding were lovely quality.
The bathroom we had to ourselves was spotless!
We were given a lovely packed breakfast for our flight and seamless personal transfers to and from Gatwick Airport.
The cooked breakfast was lovely and Shane particularly liked the sausages. Great selection of food and we were even given some hot cross buns for our homeward journey!
We look forward to using them the next time we fly from Gatwick, thank you! :)

  • A perfect start to our holiday. A really lovely couple provide a very warm welcome. The perfect place to stay and a very nice breakfast. Bargain parking so close to Gatwick, Richard was able to run us to and from the airport. Stress free AirBnB as it should be. We recommend without hesitation and we will certainly be back every time we fly from Gatwick.

  • What a fabulous couple... Nothing is too much trouble! They have a lovely cosy house which is so welcoming!
We had our own shower room and lovely thick towels too!
We sat in their lounge when we arrived and chatted like old friends! Lissey made us a gorgeous breakfast..... Fresh fruit salad, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, toast and tea, it was YUMMY!!!! We are sorry that we were only staying one night!
It's a great stop for Gatwick airport as you can leave your car and they transport you to the airport!! What more can you want!!
Fab..... We will definitely recommend to others!! Linda and Paul

  • Very welcoming, warm in heart and home, very helpful and woke up to deliver us to the airport for a hideously early flight. The travel breakfast was much appreciated. Excellent instructions to find the place. A decent sized shower tray - very rare in most bnb's.

Well worth every pound, THANK YOU

  • We concur with the many other positive reviews. The location is very convenient to the airport, made more so by Richard's willingness to act as chauffeur. London is a short train ride away. Richard provided return transportation to the train station. Lissey makes great breakfasts and strong coffee. A great experience. We will return.

About
We are a married couple, with 3 daughters, all of whom have left home. We have lived at Manor Farm since 1984 having bought it off Lissey's Dad. She lived here from 16 to 21 and we had our wedding reception here in 1973. So far two daughters are married and we have 5 grandchildren. Our middle daughter who married in 2008 also had her reception here - real dejà-vous and she has Ella, Monty and Alfie. The eldest, now engaged, is with her partner and they have a daughter, Mia and a son Charlie and the youngest just got married in April, so no children yet. We both retired early. Me from Estate Agency and Lissey from catering. We love having the grandchildren round, as all live relatively locally. We are keen gardeners and have to be with this property, although I do manage to fit in a few rounds of golf and we do like our holidays especially to our house in Brittany, France, which we have now finished completely renovating. We also like being Airbnb guests, having recently had a 10 day trip around England and Scotland by train staying in some delightful Airbnb accommodation. We are also off to my niece's wedding in San Francisco in April and then driving up to Vancouver and the whole 2+ weeks will be in Airbnb.
