Enjoy your stay in our tiny home with a queen bed, full bathroom, kitchen & laundry. Look out off the front porch at our peaceful sweeping front acreage, including our winding driveway and 10 acres of hay fields.
2 adults (and 1-2 children that can sleep on a floor mattresss) can fit snuggly into our mini cottage. We hope you enjoy dogs, we breed them & have many running around (Lando, our massive Anatolian Shepherd, is likely to greet you with a few warning barks, but he is the sweetest boy.)
The space
Our cottage is 350sq ft of cuteness. The bathroom ceiling is under the loft and is low at only 7ft high, so it may not be as comfortable for extra tall visitors, however the remainder of the cottage has a lofty, airy ceiling. Make sure you take a walk along the peaceful creek at the bottom of our property just across the road from our driveway. Play with puppies, pet on all our furry friends and watch our goats frolicking in the field! Our farm has dogs (Australian Shepherds, Dachshunds, Poodles and a variety of rescues), friendly barn kitties, goats, rabbits and chickens (think fresh eggs :) If you LOVE dogs, then this is especially your place. We are ethical, responsible breeders of our furry dog family members. Our farm is also a haven for rescue dogs to recuperate before finding their new families. You can learn more about us @blinefamilyfarm online.
There is a small rooster with the chickens. There are goats that will talk to you if you visit them. There are many friendly dogs and some have more ‘watchguard’ type attitudes, however they are all sweet. Enjoy our giant Anatolian Shepherd/Spanish Mastiff Guard Dog. He’ll greet you with warning barks and he will require a non-confrontational introduction to your dogs. The biggest thing he is afraid of though is your vehicle. The bigger the scarier!
If you Walk down to the Creek that runs through the hollow, please plan on wearing shoes if you decide to wade into the water as the slate is very slippery. You’re welcome to climb up the hill behind the old barn to the top of the ridge if you’d like. We recommend you wear long pants and close toed shoes. Please spray yourself down with tick & bug repellent if you are heading up there during the spring or summer months (available in the bathroom drawer under the sink. ) You might enjoy our little pond and you are welcome to do your catch & release fishing, assuming there is plenty of water and it’s the right season. Please be aware we do have dogs and they will bark at first because they don’t know who you are. For the most part just ignore them and keep walking or stop and give them some love. Our dogs should be loose on the property only a few at a time.
If you are bringing your own dogs, please do not walk them up and around our dogs at the main house until we’ve already helped properly introduce them to each other. Lando can sometimes be distrustful of new dog visitors, as long as you and your dogs are not aggressive he will sniff them thoroughly and deem them okay, maybe giving a few extra warning barks just to establish the fact that he is the master here on the farm. Aggressive or overly dominant dogs may not stay with us, for your safety and ours.
Guest access
You are welcome to utilize the entire tiny house, including the washer/dryer & closets. You may walk around and explore the entire property (up the hill behind us or down across the street to our creek.) If we are outside you are more than welcome to come visit with us, our dogs & our puppies. Otherwise we pretty much keep to ourselves. If you need anything, just let us know!
We do have a hot tub set up under the carport that may be available for use depending on if it’s clean and hot when you are here. :). Just ask before your arrival. We’ll put all the dogs away & allow you your privacy.
Other things to note
Please note that your pets need to be on-leash at all times. Please clean up after yourself & your animals as you make messes. Poop should be immediately tied up in a plastic bag & placed in a covered trash can. Dogs must be up to date on all immunizations and friendly with other dogs & people.
