Double room with matrimonal "memory" bed in an elegant central apartment, bright, quiet, comfortable: bathroom with shower (shared with the hosting family) wifi, italian breakfast. 5 minutes by walk from Vatican museums and St. Peter's Church.

The Space

Double room , living room, bathroom with shower to share with hosting family, tv, wi-fi, music, guidance to the choice of roots, cultural and fun opportunities, roman gastronomy knowledge (my father Fabio is a great chef!). There is also a small cat named Rinaldo, who is part of the family!

Guest Access

Double room with memory mattress, very comfortable!! Big livingroom, big bathroom with a beautiful shower. Italian Breakfast every morning with: milk, coffee, tea, homemade bread, butter, jam, biscuits, snacks.
Free use of the keys to come and go whenever the hosts want.

Interaction with Guests

Guests are welcomed during the check-in, and accompanied during their stay with comfort services. We like to give suggestions about our City, we give a list of places where our guests can go: restaurants, nightlife, monuments. We are very respectful of the reciprocal space. We love to exchange opinions about Rome and other countries, to share travel experiences!

The Neighborhood

The very central “Prati” neighborhood in one of the oldest and most elegant part of the city, is home to a lot of restaurants, bar, concert halls, cinemas, theaters able to offer a special evening for the strangers interested in cultural opportunities.
Very close to us there is the suggestive neighborhood of “Borgo” , to take a walk in the hearth of Rome, and “Castel Sant’Angelo” , one of the symbols of Rome. In about a three quarter of hour walk or 15 minutes on bus you can reach Trastevere, Piazza Navona, Via del Corso, Piazza di Spagna.

Getting around

The big “Auditorium” of Renzo Piano and museums such as “Galleria Borghese” , “National Gallery of Modern Art” , “Palazzo Massimo” , MAXXI Museum are attainable by public bus or on foot in an hour walk along the Tiber. In the context of a big town “Vatican Guest House” allows you to reach on foot , through scenic routes , the most beautiful artistic and historical areas of Rome and to move simply on underground (stop 100 meters far) or bus ( many urban lines ) to reach every corner of the city. You can reach the apartment from the airport Fiumicino with the bus or the train.

  • An accommodating space at a convenient location, hosted by an exceptional family. At check-in, a list of nearby attractions and restaurants were provided along with a list of guest suggestions. The welcome meal and breakfasts were incredibly generous - we regret not being able to spend additional nights at the Vatican Guest House.

  • We had a great break. The accommodation was exactly as described. Our hosts were charming and very welcoming. A perfect place for visiting the Vatican and very easy access for the rest of Rome. Would happily recommend to anyone. Many thanks to Federica and the rest of her family.

  • My friend and I had an amazing stay with the Landi family. Very helpful suggestions for making our trip memorable. Excellent English and knowledgeable about their city and transportation. Their home is perfect location for access to all sights Rome has to offer. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast offered unexpected and delicious. Gracious hosts and accommodations made our stay outstanding. This is what airbnb is all about... Breaking down cultural barriers and making meaningful connections.

    Response from Federica:

Thank you for your reference, we hope to see you again ! You are the perfect guests!

  • From the beginning Federica was most understanding [ we had been out of internet contact for 10 days prior to our arrival] and then again when our train into Rome was delayed 1 hour and she had already been waiting for us. But we were made to feel so welcome when we did arrive! Something to eat and drink was unexpected and we were very grateful. Also for Federica organising tickets to the Vatican Museum that night [ we didn't know about the Friday night sessions]. The highlight of our stay was dinner on Sat night at a new little restaurant recommended by Federica's parents which had just opened and was only about 10m from their front door. Although the apartment is on the second floor we had help with our luggage both on arrival and when we left. We had two hot days in Rome so were glad to use the Hop-on Hop-off bus. Unfortunately we were unable to see as much of Rome as we had planned.

  • We had a fabulous time at the Vatican Guest House. Federica, Fabio and Rosaria were wonderful hosts and quickly made us feel like we were part of the family. We were greeted on our day of arrival by Fabio who had wine, cheese, olives and bread waiting for us after our overseas flight. He oriented us to the city and made recommendations of what to see and where to eat. The Prati neighbourhood is charming and we were only a few minutes walk to the train and everything the Vatican has to offer. We felt very dafe and feel that our experience in Rome was enriched by having spent time with this special family. Many reviews mention Rinaldo the cat. I was expecting (hoping) that he would be all over me but wasn't. Rinaldo is a very curious young cat with a delightful personality. He actually contributed to the pleasant atmosphere in the house. We would stay with this lovely family again in a heartbeat.

  • We highly recommend the
Vatican Guest House! Frederica's parents were our hosts, and they were
absolutely gracious. We arrived exhausted and a bit rattled from our nearly
24 hour journey, and tired from carrying heavier-by-the-minute backpacks.
Fabio greeted us with a friendly welcome, fresh-squeezed juice and fruits
and cheeses, and his WARM homemade bread with olive oil. They provided a
list of sites and restaurants to guide us, but also enthusiasm for specific
artworks to look for in the squares and other places (especially the
incredible Bernini). One of our favorite meals of our entire trip was a
lunch eaten at a wineshop recommended by Rosaria. We even ate another
favorite meal at a restaurant in Florence that the Landi's recommended to
us. Fabio fixed us fabulous Pesto Pasta one evening, and on a different
evening they brought us delicious pastry treats just because they are sweet
people. In the mornings, we had espresso (my preferred way to start the
day!) and tea with biscuits and toast. Any coffee drinker can appreciate
not having to wander out into the unknown without a cup of coffee under
your belt. Federica's parents were engaging, full of life, and speak
excellent English. It was our Italian language skills that were
embarrassingly lacking. The room itself was very nice, clean, and
comfortable with a window overlooking a tiny courtyard, and even though the
bathroom was shared - everyone was very thoughtful. The neighborhood is
very safe. It is only about two blocks from the Vatican Museum, and very
near a metro stop. We had scheduled a visit to the Borghese Gallery on the
day of our arrival, which we postponed to a later day thankfully - because
our hosts thoughtfully offered a note of caution that we may need to go
directly from the airport to the gallery if we had any transportation
issues (which we did). This was a wonderful way to start our trip to Italy
and France - our first trip to Europe for mother and daughter (who just
graduated from college). Rome is astounding and alluring. We thank Fabio
and Rosaria from the bottom of our hearts for making our visit to Rome
extra special. We thought the world of Fabio and Rosaria and wish we lived
    close enough to become friends.

  • The apartment was very good. Cozy, clean and very well located (near the subway and the Vaticano).
When we arrived, there were some delicious snacks waiting for us. We were very well received and everything was explained to us. They gave us some suggestions of touristic points to visit, with monuments, museums and restaurants to go.
The hosts are incredible people, very polite, gentle and helpful. They even took us to a near market to buy some cheese! The breakfast is delicious too.
I strongly recommend this apartment. When we return to Rome, I have no doubt that this is the place I´ll stay.
