About this listing
Light and airy 100 year old home on quiet tree-lined street.
Ideal for one person. One quiet room for rent with a comfortable double bed. Two bathrooms in the house: one upstairs and one downstairs.
Clean, colorful, and cozy. One small and loving cat on premises. (I have had a few cat-allergic guests, and they have reported not being bothered with allergies...I keep the cat out of the guest room, and she is often outside in the summer. )
We are walking distance to all old town restaurants and businesses; as well as the bike library where bikes can be borrowed free of charge for several days. Five minute bike ride to breweries, and near city bike trails. CSU is five blocks away.
The house is easy to reach from I-25, and there is an airport shuttle stop four blocks away, at the University Best Western. We are just 2 blocks from the CSU Performing Arts Center and the Annual Flower Gardens. Rocky Mountain National Park is between 1 and 1.5 hour drive.
I have lived in Ft. Collins for 20 years and can provide information on biking and hiking trails, parks, our favorite river swimming holes, and most importantly: ice cream and tacos.
Linens and towels are provided. Fast, wireless internet.
Longer-term stays available. Feel free to inquire.
Thank you for your viewing and interest!
Guests have access to the common areas of the house- please make yourself at home.
Interaction with Guests
I am a friendly yet private person. I am very comfortable going about my own business while sharing the space with you. I do not feel the need to constantly converse with guests, and prefer not to be talked at continuously. Guests whom I have enjoyed chatting with are those who like talking about ideas and have something interesting to say. Guests whom I have enjoyed less are those who feel the need to fill the space with mindless, constant talk, and do not understand social cues.
Great location to explore the unique area of Ft. Collins on foot or bike.
This location is well suited for walking.
I offer you the utmost privacy and expect the same in return.
For safety, I do photocopy your drivers license when you arrive. If you arrive without an ID, I will not accomodate you and will refund your money.
Cute, creaky bungalow with good facilities. Accommodating hostesses Karla and daughter Issie take good care of you. The bed was bigger and more comfortable than the photos lead me to expect. And the surprise departure breakfast and good chat with Karla most pleasant.
I stayed at Karla's house for two weeks while taking a course at Colorado State University's nearby performing arts center. The location was perfect for me as it only took 5 minutes to walk to school each day. Karla was there to greet me when I arrived. The house and room were as advertised. Karla asked me several times if there was anything I needed during my stay (and had good advice about hiking and biking trails), although she was only there for one week of my visit since she was out of town during my second week there. During my second week, I bonded with Karla's cat, Cobwebs! The lack of air conditioning didn't bother me a bit since even on a hot summer day, the evenings in Fort Collins are cool and there was a fan in the room if needed. My bed was comfortable and I had what I needed during my stay. Wifi was a must for my purposes and it worked beautifully while I was there. The porch swing was one of my favorite things about the house! Also, I felt safe in the neighborhood.
Karla was amazing and super sweet and cool. I had the best airbnb experience so far. The house is very pleasant and quaint. The room is traditional and has so much character. The neighborhood is fantastic and located near downtown.
I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Karla was very warm and welcoming and I quickly felt that I was almost part of the family. Her house is very conveniently located near Colorado State University and the Old Town is both charming and quiet. Karla's house is very comfortable and has lots of character as well. I can thoroughly recommend staying with her.
Karla greeted me warmly and was very flexible about my arrival time. Her home is warm and charming. For my stay, I wanted someplace close to the college and close to Old Town and Karla's home was both. My room was clean and comfortable. My bed was comfortable as well. She made herself available, but was not intrusive in the least. I think her home is perfect for a mom visiting kids at college for a weekend. I felt safe in the neighborhood.
Karla is a *wonderful* host! She and her daughter Izzy are so kind and friendly - they're happy to have a nice chat with you, or to leave you alone if you want / need privacy. I cannot imagine a better AirBNB host. And the location is stupendous - less than a mile walk to Colorado State, and not far from Old Town either!
It was my first experience in U.S and, more specifically, in Ft. Collins. I spent 5 nights at Karla's home and i have to say the everything was perfect. Karla's home is located in a quiet neighbourhood and pretty central very close to CSU. The room was very nice and cozy.
Karla is lovely, very gracious and helpful. Her cat (Cobweb) is very sweet and loving. I felt like at home!! For all people that would stay in Ft.C, I highly recommend Karla's place: the best!
