Light and airy 100 year old home on quiet tree-lined street.
Ideal for one person. One quiet room for rent with a comfortable double bed. Two bathrooms in the house: one upstairs and one downstairs.
Clean, colorful, and cozy. One small and loving cat on premises. (I have had a few cat-allergic guests, and they have reported not being bothered with allergies...I keep the cat out of the guest room, and she is often outside in the summer. )
We are walking distance to all old town restaurants and businesses; as well as the bike library where bikes can be borrowed free of charge for several days. Five minute bike ride to breweries, and near city bike trails. CSU is five blocks away.
The house is easy to reach from I-25, and there is an airport shuttle stop four blocks away, at the University Best Western. We are just 2 blocks from the CSU Performing Arts Center and the Annual Flower Gardens. Rocky Mountain National Park is between 1 and 1.5 hour drive.
I have lived in Ft. Collins for 20 years and can provide information on biking and hiking trails, parks, our favorite river swimming holes, and most importantly: ice cream and tacos.
Linens and towels are provided. Fast, wireless internet.
Longer-term stays available. Feel free to inquire.
Thank you for your viewing and interest!
Guests have access to the common areas of the house- please make yourself at home.
Interaction with Guests
I am a friendly yet private person. I am very comfortable going about my own business while sharing the space with you. I do not feel the need to constantly converse with guests, and prefer not to be talked at continuously. Guests whom I have enjoyed chatting with are those who like talking about ideas and have something interesting to say. Guests whom I have enjoyed less are those who feel the need to fill the space with mindless, constant talk, and do not understand social cues.
Great location to explore the unique area of Ft. Collins on foot or bike.
This location is well suited for walking.
I offer you the utmost privacy and expect the same in return.
For safety, I do photocopy your drivers license when you arrive. If you arrive without an ID, I will not accomodate you and will refund your money.
It was my first experience in U.S and, more specifically, in Ft. Collins. I spent 5 nights at Karla's home and i have to say the everything was perfect. Karla's home is located in a quiet neighbourhood and pretty central very close to CSU. The room was very nice and cozy.
Karla is lovely, very gracious and helpful. Her cat (Cobweb) is very sweet and loving. I felt like at home!! For all people that would stay in Ft.C, I highly recommend Karla's place: the best!
I stayed at Karla's home for 2 nights, while attending the HSGA (Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association) annual convention in Fort Collins. Her place was conveniently close to the venue so it only took a few minutes to drive there. Whole Foods was only another mile (approx.) south, and I never felt hungry. I left early and returned after dinner. The conference was pretty intense, so I appreciated a nice place to chill/ unwind in the evening. Unfortunately my schedule didn't leave much time to visit. (I barely got to say "Hello" to Izzy.) Maybe next year??? Thanks for putting me up!
Karla was there to give me a tour of her home when I arrived. The place has a great energy (and it smells terrific!). The location was convenient but quiet. There is a nice little café about 4 blocks down the street and Walgreen's is within walking distance.
I will definitely stay with Karla again when I return to Fort Collins for business.
Karla was very welcoming and helpful. My flying visit only lasted 12 hours so I'm not best placed to leave a thorough review. The house was clean and tidy though and I enjoyed my brief stay.
I had a great experience staying here. The home is quiet and quaint and had everything I needed. Location was perfect near old town FC and CSU campus in a beautiful neighborhood full of old growth trees and gardens. Being from Phoenix, this was a welcome change of environment. I didn't have a car but I was able to rent a bike from the nearby bike library for $10/day (overnight). Karla is such a nice and interesting person, and was extremely accommodating and flexible during my stay. When I arrived she not only provided me with maps and travel guides for getting around the area, but also with insider tips for fun things to do and places to visit during my 3 days there. I would definitely recommend any wary traveler looking for cheap accommodations near downtown Fort Collins to stay here.
Karla is one of the most warm and earnest people I've ever met, with a keen mind and a welcoming personality. Her home was cozy, relaxing, open to the air; with a beautiful garden and front porch. She made sure everything was taken care of, and we had a great time chatting and playing music together. Her cat, Cobwebs, is loving and affectionate. I could not have asked for a better host nor a more enjoyable visit.
Another great stay in Ft. Collins with Karla. This was my second time staying there, and everything was perfect. A warm, friendly welcome, all the amenities I needed, a home full of character and a porch swing seat to pass the hours in sunshine.
Karla lives in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood, pretty central and easy to find. I will certainly stay again on my next visit to Ft. Collins. Thanks Karla!
We are a warm and welcoming family with a sense of humor. We want you to make yourself at home. I have on occasion slept in the guest room and find the bed comfortable and the room very quiet.
I have lived in Ft. Collins for 20 years and can provide you with lots of information regarding the area: good bike rides and hikes, places to swim, good coffee and food. I have really enjoyed hosting past guests.
