The Stable Malacca, a one room guest house that offer comfort and ultimate privacy as you will get the exclusive use of the house when you check in with us.
The stable is sublime sanctuary in the hub of malacca's historical precinct between Heeren street, once a narrow street fill with wealthy colonial residences and the famous Jonker street, which now houses antique dealers, museums, restaurants, galleries, cafes and handicraft shop.
She is smart, witty and charming reinvention of what used to be a horse stable built during the 16th Dutch occupation of malacca.
Original wooden beams dances around and richly textured room of raw exposé bricks.
The interior is a brilliant collision of modern to the baroque and to the local Peranakan heritage.
The small house is an inspired fusion of old and new, chic and stylish, individualistic cool.
Like our sister property 45lekiu, the whole house is entirely yours when you check in with us.
Please be advise smoking is prohibited inside the house.
You will the only guest if you check in to stay with us.

Eli was very hospitable and accommodating. The place was unexpectedly close to Jonker Street and there were some noise (as expected) but otherwise a pleasant place.
We really enjoyed staying at Eli's place, which is in an authentic historical area of Malacca. Eli's place was adequate for our needs and Eli was also a great host. We very much enjoyed being located close to all the major attractions of the city.
Great place! Cosy little place in the very heart of the city. Nice fusion of antique and modern.
Eli & Sharen were both fantastic hosts, so welcoming & helpful.
The Stable is a great location if you want to be immersed in the heart of Melaka. The property is very well presented & comfortable. Due to its proximity to the night market it is not quiet, we had no problem with this, but it may trouble light-sleepers.
Thanks for a great experience:)
The Stable was true to it's description. A charming and unique place in Malacca which attracted lots of tourists posing for a photo in front of the doorstep. My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful amenities they have provided in addition to the comfortable stay. Definitely a pleasant experience. Thank you Sharen for your kind hospitality!
it lokes like a real nice place to spend a few days in malaca, but:
- the neighbourhood is very noisy, the live music cafe opposite the narrow street makes it really impossible to sleep
- the bed is broken in the middle so you end up in the middle
Sorry but that's how it is.
We had a lovely experience at the stable! Very quaint and charming. We were in awe of the interior and we definitely enjoyed our stay there. Eli was patient to wait for our arrival and provided us with a map of the attractions in the vicinity. We were there for 2 nights on a weekday so the neighbourhood was really quiet. Do check out the pub just infront of the stable, the owner of the place is a jack of all musical instruments!
The power kept tripping on the 2nd day but it wasn't a biggie. Thanks again Eli, for hosting us!
