The space
IMPORTANT:
The Big Dipper is located up a very steep hill. You must walk 80 yards uphill to get to the dome from the shoreline. If you reach out prior to your arrival, we would be delighted to help bring your belongings up the hill with our side-by-side, and back down the hill when you depart.

**If you have mobility concerns, do not book this dome - consider the Little Dipper instead, which is located much closer to the shoreline.

Feel free to use any of the walking paths on the property to explore. We ask that you stay on the walking paths to protect the natural forest, moss, and plant life. The forest's natural beauty is a big part of the dome experience. Thank you for helping us keep it pristine for all guests!

Other things to note
VERY IMPORTANT TO READ:
1. LAKE ACCESS ONLY: You MUST have or rent a boat to access this property in the summer, and have or rent a snow machine to access this property in the winter. Voyageurs Outpost has boat & snowmobile rental availability, please inquire for details!

2. PACK LIGHT: The Big Dipper is located up a steep and long hill. If you reach out ahead of your arrival, we would be delighted to help cart your belongings up the hill when you arrive, and back down the hill when you depart. We provide linens, extra blankets, comfy pillows, towels, paper products, potable drinking water, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, spices, cooking oil, and coffee/coffee filters to ensure that you only have to bring your personal belongings & food to enjoy the dome experience!

3. NO PETS OR CHILDREN UNDER 7: The Big Dipper 2nd bedroom is a queen bed in a loft. Because of safety concerns, we do not allow children under 7. We love pets, but the dome inner liner and luxury furniture can be enticing for dogs to chew on and we need to make sure the dome is kept in great condition for all to enjoy.

4. GROCERIES: Crane Lake is a very remote town - our nearest grocery store is 45 minutes away in Cook, MN. For an even larger & cheaper selection, stop in Virginia, MN on your way up to buy groceries & other necessities. That being said, the resorts on Crane Lake do have a few grocery items to help out in case you forget things. We are also a community of sharing. If you really want to bake a cake, but forgot eggs - just ask!

5. NO WIFI: The dome experience is about plugging into the nature & loved ones around you, and unplugging from the rest of the world. To help cultivate this we provide board games, cards, puzzles, books, yoga mats, hammocks, a fire pit, and a canoe. The dome does not have a TV or wifi.

6. CELL SERVICE: Although you may have spotty coverage in Voyageurs National Park, you will have cell phone service at the dome with most providers. T-mobile is the only provider that does not service Crane Lake.

7. FRIENDLY DOGS ON PROPERTY: We live on property and own 2 husky dogs who you may see walk by from time-to-time. They are both very kind and love all humans, but we understand that not everyone is a dog person. If you would rather not see them during your stay please let us know ahead of time and we will make sure they stays away from the dome while you're here.
