🌲 The Experience
Sip your morning coffee on the porch as the sun rises over the Big Piney River, casting a turquoise glow across the water. Perched on a bluff above one of the most scenic stretches of the Ozarks, Piney Bend is designed for slowing down, unplugging, and reconnecting with nature.
This isn’t a typical cabin stay—it’s a one-of-a-kind riverfront experience you won’t find anywhere else nearby.
Spend your days floating, fishing, exploring gravel bars, or simply soaking in the peaceful sounds of the woods and water. In the evening, gather around the fire, unwind in the hot tub, or relax on the deck overlooking the river.

## 🚗 Access + Location
The cabin is accessed by a steep, narrow driveway and is best suited for 4x4 vehicles. If needed, parking is available at the bottom with a short walk up.
Located just minutes off I-44 and historic Route 66, you’ll feel secluded while still being conveniently close to town.
You may hear faint road noise at times due to the location.

## 🌊 The River + Area
The Big Piney River sits just below the bluff and is known for its clear water, scenic beauty, and excellent fishing 🐟
This is a true nature stay—not a resort. The cabin sits on a bluff above the river, and access is natural (gravel/rocky rather than sandy), which is part of what makes this spot so private and special.
Nearby you can:
• Float or kayak through Devil’s Elbow
• Swim or relax on the large sandbar across the river
• Fish directly below the property
Several local outfitters can help arrange floats or guided trips.
You’re also:
• 10 minutes to Walmart / Fort Leonard Wood

Guest access
You’ll have full private access to the cabin, porch, and surrounding area at the top of the bluff, including the outdoor shower, restroom, sink, hot-tub, fire pit, and yard space.
A path with stone steps leads down toward the road and river access.
From there, you can explore the Big Piney River, including a small gravel/rock bar just past the cabin towards the I44 bridge and a large sandbar across the river—perfect for swimming, floating, or relaxing in the afternoon.
You can also walk to the nearby bridge and enjoy a short float back to the cabin. There's also a spring waterfall under the bridge coming from the bluff.
About ½ mile in the opposite direction, you’ll find a popular rope swing for cooling off on warm days.
We also offer optional float trips with kayaks or a scenic tube float—just reach out if you’d like more information.
Other things to note
A 4x4 vehicle is recommended to drive all the way up to the cabin. If not, you can park at the bottom of the access road and walk approximately 100 yards up to the cabin.
The cabin has two queen beds, but one is lofted and accessed by a ladder.
This is a true glamping-style stay set in nature above the river, with uneven terrain and natural drop-offs. Children should be supervised at all times.
Being in nature, you may encounter bugs, insects, and occasional wildlife—this is part of the experience and something to expect in the Ozarks.
Everything here is designed to be simple, slow, and intentional—so you can relax and enjoy the river without overplanning.
Spring and summer weekends tend to book quickly, especially with the river this clear 🌿
