About this listing
I am in a lovely leafy area, where you will get a warm welcome, a very good breakfast and lots of advice or pointers on interesting local arts and cultural pursuits or just come and enjoy our lovely country.T
Bright and airy double room in Edwardian house where you will get a very warm welcome! The room is spacious and comfortable, with lovely street views. Breakfast in the dining room or in cosy kitchen if you prefer, where you will be served a bountiful breakfast including home-made pancakes, brioche, jams and marmalades. Or, you can dine, weather permitting, in the garden and later explore the very lovely waterworks nature reserve nearby or further afield as your whim takes you!
You will sleep in cotton sheets and towels are provided.
Nestled close to Cavehill, birthplace of the United Irishmen, an area of great natural beauty and stomping ground of the famed and tragic Henry Joy McCracken, the period property boasts a country-style kitchen, where languorous breakfasts are also served if you prefer and a living space that is very amenable to unwinding in the evening.
The house is located within an easy walk to shops which provide very good produce and also a variety of takeaways. There is a bus stop seconds from the house, which provides a very regular service into the centre of town where you will find a bustling town centre with a wide range of shops and entertainment. Also within a few minutes walk is an entrance to the local park, the Waterworks, where a wide range of wild birds can be spotted.
Belfast is replete with cultural, historic and retail areas of interest and I can provide you with details of these just to get you started! (email hidden)ly capital city, it provides an array of stores within a walkable city centre. In the evenings the centre offers a similarly lively atmosphere with options ranging from theatre, music, small, traditional pubs through to high end restaurants, all surrounded by the many historical offerings Belfast has.
Provided with the room: free wi-fi, parking and a bountiful, cooked breakfast.
I booked a night for a colleague to stay at Mary's. Safe to say he was more than impressed. Mary was extremely welcoming and accommodating, she even gave him a lift to his meeting because he was running late and missed his bus! And her pancakes are actually that good. Thanks Mary!
Mary warmly welcomed me. She is so kind. Room is lovely.I ate delicious breakfast.Cats and dog are so cute.
I want to stay there again.
My stay at Mary's house was simply fantastic. Comfortable and big room, excellent bathroom, and fantastic breakfast. The street is very quiet and nice, but what makes this house extraordinary is the host. Mary is so helpful, kind and lovely that you feel almost at home. Great place to stay if you are going to Belfast!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mary and staying with her. She is a fantastic woman to talk with, and I left learning so much more about Northern Ireland and its culture. Mary is a doting host, and will make sure you're comfortable at every single turn--whether that's getting you more juice in the morning, doing your laundry or pointing you in the right direction when you want to go out. Would you like to sit and chat with someone for awhile? Mary is always willing, and makes an excellent conversationalist. Her home also has a lovely character about it--you know there are stories from growing up there, and Mary will gladly tell you about it. It's also a quick ride into the city center (the bus is very close by) and very easy to get around. The neighborhood is good for a walk, and is away from the hustle and noise of the city--which is great if you need some rest after a long day. I would highly, highly recommend staying with Mary.
A very nice BnB, the room was very big and really nice, especially for the price paid!
Mary was a very nice and welcoming host, ensuring everything was good (and making sure my tie was straight!)
Would definitely stay again if I (hopefully) return to Belfast
