The space is a carefully curated haven. With 15 foot ceilings, huge industrial windows, and a perfect view of Manhattan from the Freedom Tower to the Bronx, you're sure to get inspired during your stay. The spare bedroom is comfortably minimal. A mosquito netted bed up the stairs in the lofted sleeping area comfortably fits two, plus there's a blowup mattress to accommodate a third guest if need be.
Experience true Brooklyn industrial loft living.
Washer/Dryer (coin operated) down the hall
...and petting privileges to the most awesome cat named Cindy!
Interaction with Guests
I work (and play) in the Brooklyn area so I will most likely be around during your stay. Cindy, of course, will always be here to keep you company. She is super sweet. Check out the house rules section for more info.
In the loft you will find yourself perfectly located to both escape from everything and have very quick access to it at the same time. The area around me is still industrial during the day, but things quiet down a bit at night. (Super light sleepers could still benefit from earplugs if they're not used to city living.) A short walk from the loft are plenty of great bars, restaurants, coffee-shops, and even a little shopping. In fact, the neighborhood is changing so quickly that you might even get to see something new pop up while you are here!
The loft is only a 2 or 3 minute walk from the L train, which can get you anywhere in the city pretty quickly. It doesn't get much more convenient.
Since this is a shared space, I like people who tidy up after themselves, because I try to. That being said, we're all human beings and certainly not perfect, myself included, so just do your best. You are free to use whatever you like in the apartment within reason - but if in doubt please call or email me.
SMOKING - I allow smoking in the main room (only) of the apartment, and occasionally partake myself, but don't like when the place smells like an ashtray. If you're going to chain smoke, check out the roof, it's awesome.
PARKING - There is ample street parking available in the area. Please read all signs and make sure you're parking in a legal area (stay at least 10 feet away from fire hydrants and out of yellow or red marked curbs).
ROOFTOP - There are two rooftops in our building. Technically nobody is allowed on the roof, yet every night you can find people there relaxing, playing guitar, stargazing, maybe drinking some beer, and checking out the unbelievable view. Be responsible.
The biggest rule in the house is really to keep the door to the bathroom open when it's not in use. It's Cindy's bathroom too, and while she is a smart cat, she hasn't learned to open doors yet ;)
I have been called a free spirited artist/musician who appreciates the finer things in life. Between constructing conceptual art and writing the next hit indie song, I keep a busy schedule but love to revel in my gorgeous Brooklyn retreat. It is a source of inspiration and serenity in my life and I'm excited to share it with you!
I am passionate about pretty much everything and I love cooking breakfast. Life rules. Taking over the world one late night discussion at a time.
